Last friday was my birthday, and Starbound didnt get released for my birthday.

I feel neglected.

And PLEASE! If it's released in november, please tell us 2-3 days in front so I can get some day off at work

 

Please don't triple post if you can help it.

The devs have said they DON'T want to do a surprise beta so hopefully they will give us a decent warning. You should be good as long unless they decide to do a one day warning, but I would like to imagine they would try to pull of a weeks notice if at all possible.

 

If the release is anytime past November I won't care since I'll be too busy with the Xcom expansion.

 

I find it extremely funny when people on the forums act like they are not at all interested in Starbound as if it was going to make the devs sad or something. I think they picture it going a little bit like this:

Molly: Oh, guys, have you seen this post here in the forums!? This kid doesn't want to play our game anymore because we are taking so long to release the beta!!! Oh noes.
Tyi: This is unacceptable! Let's release the beta now. I won't be able to live knowing people are not going to play our game because they can't wait!

Come on, seriously, grow up.

Lets see it Positive -max Time theoretically 4 the Beta are 9 Weeks to go^^ Not so long anymore if you see it even not Positive. But Yes the Wait is almost Painful now

You do realize that November isn't here yet, right? It's still October on Earth.

 

This long pause in daily updates RIGHT after the update mentioning preparation for beta is.... kinda suspicious. I have a feeling we're right on the doorstep of beta, about to knock on its door.

 

I think is just business as usual. Troll the fanbase, provoke conversations about the release date, and then lock your own thread. And the "not posting updates daily" is pretty normal at this point. I'll put my money on a December release.

 

When you check the last update's comments, then on multiple occasions people have said that the hype is being lowered by the beta taking so long. Saying "beta" and then staying quiet for a few days is right now the cheapest way to get more hype.

 

Even if it is release of the beta it wont solve the rest of the problems I listed a few pages ago. It is a step in the right direction if so.. but a very tiny baby step.

More likely however, it was an offhand remark made off the cuff with little thought put into it. If it does happen to be November I doubt it is a -planned- thing among them right this instant. So for those jumping around in the thread, I wouldn't count our chickens before they hatch yet.
