Hello all! So I was curious. Earlier, while in the Secret Woods, I saw the pond rippling during a foraging trip for hardwood. Which meant... time to fish! So I ran over and pulled out the ole Iridium Rod and threw my line. First catch got me a fish naturally. but also a treasure chest! Lo and behold, I was astounded on what I found inside: An Iridium band! And... a Diamond! Now, this pretty much blew anything else away that I had ever fished up before. My best catch. What has anyone else fished up in a treasure chest that makes you go:
I managed to get a dinosaur egg, I feel like a fool for donating it to the museum straight away. Been trying to get one for a while so have to keep looking for another one. I haven't looked into whether the dinosaurs lay eggs or not, if they do I'll be beating myself up! Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
Wow. I STILL haven't found one yet, so that's a pretty good find! And yes, they do lay eggs. I believe with a maxed out coop you can have dinosaurs and they can lay eggs for you.
The most useful I found was a small glow ring in spring of year 1; you forget how hard it is to navigate after dark without a glow ring until you restart the game. Best items I've gotten overall are a Prismatic Shard (for rarity) and a handful of Treasure Chests (for pure cash value).
Prismatic Shard? That's pretty good. Basically have yourself a Galaxy Sword. lol When I started my first game and went into the mines (deeper) I didn't realize how amazing this was until I had to scrounge for torches. Then I finally found the ring, died, lost it, and found it again. Worst 16 days of my life.
In my very first playthrough I managed to get an iridium band in the first days of summer year 1. Let's just say it really threw off my expectations in later playthroughs until I found out how actually rare that is.
A glow ring. Given that many others have had the same, I can only conclude that someone dumped an entire concession's worth into the various lakes, rivers, and oceans surrounding the village.
I like fishing for treasure, so I've gotten loads of goodies throughout my time playing the game. I've gotten iridium bands, gems galore, iridium ore, truck loads of artifacts, several of Neptune's Glaive and.. an actual treasure chest. http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Treasure_Chest They sell for 5k g which is nice but I kinda regretted selling it, would've been awesome to have a treasure on display in my house
I think you get it from the desert. That's where I got it anyway and I've only seen it once. I've been tempted to go treasure fishing in the desert again to see if I can find one again, just never really get around to do it.
I felt the same way. When I fished up a dinosaur egg, I was super excited, and gave it to the museum right away. Fortunately, A couple of months later, I somehow managed to fish up another one. Come to think of it, I did the same with prismatic shards. Moral of the story, do not rush to give stuff to the museum.
Well, there was that one year the Luau got pretty wild, and turned into a rave... I've found an iridium band, dino eggs, and various other nifty prizes inside treasure chests. I did get one of those treasure-chest items (the chest inside the chest, nested like a Russian Doll) and kept it for display instead of selling it for cash value. Nice conversation piece.
I've never seen that one either! That one must be pretty rare. Starting to think that's how all of these rings end up in the water to begin with. Certainly makes an interesting point, what with all the...peculiar festivals and gatherings.
The best I received from fishing was Neptune's Glave. I consider it so because it was in the first week of year 1. It made short work of the mines that save file. The most rare I found was the elf boots. Only found them once.
I would guess these are what La Chair is referring to: http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Genie_Shoes (Or possibly these: http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Thermal_Boots ). I still wonder why there are so many pairs of broken glasses in the town waterways. I know /I've/ never lost a pair of them yet...
Oh okay, see I never knew about "Elf Boots" so I wasn't sure. Well, even though I wear glasses too, my brother and I often joke that the nerds around town must not know how to swim. So, a lot of them drown and we find the "remnants." Pretty messed up, but it gives us a laugh every once in a while. And then I begin to fear for my safety...
