This started out as just a tower built to up the limits of the map, but It now includes a castle, farmlands, houses, cottages, a Sarlacc pit, and a dungeon that goes to the center of the planet. So I've built and shaped things from all the way to the top of the map the core of the planet. If you like the pics I've posted, click a "like" for me. I'm new to the forum (and forums in general), and I could use the shot in the arm. A kind of drawbridge. It's 13 trap doors all rigged to a switch in the tower. I might replace the water with lava. That Tower goes all the way to the top of the map. That's why there's a deeper interior pool in the above pic. You can fall all the way down the tower and land in the pool to survive. To The left of the tower, in an asteroid, is a mini dungeon with a chest full of loot The last thing I've built is this courtyard. I'm not building anything else until I sketch out a rough idea of what I want the actual castle to look like. I also need to pick at least 2 more building materials (other than glass and wood) to break up the monotony of the cobblestone.
I'll need to learn how to make a video first. Quick explanation though. There are 2 bridges, one on each side of the castle. They are each made of 13 glitch trapdoors hooked up to a flip switch.[DOUBLEPOST=1424098543][/DOUBLEPOST]OK, the construction of the Castle is complete. I'll probably add some windows or other small details to it later, but the main construction is finished. Now I'm going to build a village and a huge lake. Replaced the water with lava and added trim to the arches. Reception hall and Workshop Courtyard, Servant's Quarters, and Kitchen Treasure Room and Guard Room Throne Room and Banquet Hall King's Suite, Royal Library, and Banquet Hall Two Towers. The One on the left is for prisoners and the one on the right is for visitors Guest Rooms. For visiting dignitaries Greenhouse. Ingredients for tropic punch. The Coconut trees are in a field just outside the castle. Dungeon and torture chamber Oubliette The Other Drawbridge
First villager's home. I don't know if I'm going to stick with the same materials for the rest or not.
That retractable bridge was clever. I'll copy it to make large airlock doors in my underwater city. It'd look better if it looked like hi-tech blocks, but now I can build a submarine bay.
Just added a Sarlacc pit. The platform at the top is for chucking people in Jabba The Hut Style. I guess I could build a small airship here, but nah. Does anyone have suggestions on what I could use for teeth?
I started Building a dungeon. IT's basically a cavern that zigzags down to the core of the planet. I've put in in a few traps and lava pits, but there is still a lot to fill in between the entrance and the end. Entrance to the dungeon. I need to check out some tutorials on pixel art and add some different shades to this, but it's supposed to look like a dragon's mouth. It does not. This is the treasure room at the core of the planet. It's got a bunch of top tier armor and weapons, pixel compressor, 10k voxel, diamonds, molotovs, a bunch of different costumes. 64 items total.
Are you doing this in "creative mode"? If not, how the heck do you get the resources to do all this???
I am not doing this in creative mode. I get/got most of the resources by basically having a filing system for all the stuff I get while mining and adventuring (it's the storage room in the 6th picture). Most of the castle is made of cobblestone, which I get in abundance while mining for more valuable things. Also, there are many turrets set up on the castle which I use to harvest pixels. I 3D print a lot of this stuff. Sometimes when I want to play but am too tired to think, I tear down a glitch castle or the foundation of an avian village, or some other structure. I should learn to use admin/creative mode. I used to be really good at making levels on Little Big Planet, but the debacle with LBP 3 and Sony's abysmal customer service had me abandon that game. Do you know of a tutorial for accessing creative mode? It would probably help a lot. Also, here's my "Depraved Party Room" I added to the castle. There are hot tubs of alien juice and coffee in the room and a hot tub of healing water on the balcony. I installed this above the treasure room. And this is the lake house and dock I built on the lake I made. Clay is another thing you get a lot of while mining for other resources. To get water, I just go to an ocean planet and rig my mouse to collect water while I check out stuff on the internet or cook.
I'm not very Starbound savvy, but here's a list of all the admin commands. There are some good mods out there, like this one. I'm told it's very good, but I wouldn't know since I'm a vanilla player. If that one doesn't work for you, then you can just Google "Creative mode mod + Starbound" and I'm sure you'll find one that suits your needs.
i am so impressed with this, when i saw the dignitary rooms i was like whaaaa? really good looking and themefull also by the looks of it u dont really need admin for this, it looks like its driving you enough to get it on your own. great work
Here's my take on a hospital. I may add a kitchen, storage, and stuff like that later on. For now it's 6 patient rooms, 2 examination/appointment rooms, the waiting room, and the emergency room.
Avian Sacrificial altar? You're right, there's not awhole lot that would fit. Atleast it's a clean surface, and cutting tools are already available
I've got an avian sacrificial altar in my "Depraved Party Room". Something's gotta keep the crops growing.
