    SooooOOOOOooooo
Me the genius gamer that I am (lolsure) thought of rather than dieing as soon as you reach the unfortunate inevitable 0 HP, you would be incapacitated instead of Terraria gibbing from a slime.
While incaped, you cant attack or do any action other than plead for assistence and grasp at the nearby terrain.
A team mate can, naturally, grab your arm and pull you back up to fight the good fight!(If indeed grabbing his arm will fix most of his problems), leaving him at ~1HP to run like a chicken to find any sort of recuperation.
    What do you guys think?

    I dunno...
I'm not exactly sure how they would be able to implement such system without it becoming a major annoyance to single-playe or a exploitable feature in multiplayer.

But it MAY be a good idea?
Perhaps as you get downed you can crawl very slowly and use small items and firearms.
Or have special gear that let you do that.

Maybe similar to Left 4 Dead? Instead of dieing, you could just wait a little bit and a healer role could revive you.

    I like this idea

or maybe it would happen at like 10 hp instead? with a 50% damage reduction to help survive long enough for someone to heal you?

You should also be able to kill yourself while down, in case that pain is too much.

@Techgamer, With proper skill a player could lower their hp down to 10 and be a nearly invincible with powerful armor and +50% to that you may only be able to deal 1 damage to him, then again if you are a skilled player you can avoid being hit as well.

I think that if you'd try to do that Alpha_Squad, with a new player it would be slightly useful, but even if you have 10 hp, anything that does damage will hurt alot.
Even with high armor, unless you're fighting weak monsters, you wont need it even cause of the armor, but against stronger monsters it would not matter cause they'd break that threshold quite easily imo.

That dramatically reduces the game's challenge level, and what happens if a whole team gets overwhelmed (or if one is playing by oneself for that matter); it would probably get very boring sitting there.
Not to mention the fact that one does not simply faint from being shredded to bits by an alien sword, then get back up, unless one is a pokemon.

Yes, there should be a defense cap for that :)

I like the idea of being downed and having to crawl while shooting a 1 handed pistol, and you can only stand up again if you:
    A:get healed
B:wait for the timer to run out which will then give you 10hp and you will be back on your feet
    C:you die
D:the battle is over, in which you recover 10hp and get back up on your feet
