Pixel Beginner Pixel Artists Thread!

Paint.net and Gimp, personally I'd recommend Paint.net

 

I actually know how to use gimp quite well. I'm not certain how to make pixel art in it though.

 

There's graphic's gale free version.

 

ASEprite is my prime choice. If you want to use gimp, zoom in real far and use the pencil tool.

 

I use MS Paint. No? Okay I'll leave... :'c

I tried to make something with gimp. Please do keep in mind that this is my first time ever making pixel art.


Edit: how do you make it so you can see the pixels bigger? Sorry for the lack of knowledge I posses.

 

If you check out http://www.realmofthemadgod.com/draw.html , you can make some 'baby steps' in pixel art.

 

Holding control and scrolling the mouse wheel should work.
Also it'll be easier to do pixel art if you change the eraser tool a bit.
Click the eraser and tic the box labeled hard edge.

Ok, I tried to make another piece of art, but I just need to know how I increase the size of to photo without ruining it? If I try to use the scaling tool, it just ruins the pixels sharpness.

 

Ok well I made this.

I still don't know how to make 'em bigger so you can properly see them.

 

Scale the image. But for interpolation select none. This will work best when your new size is a multiple of its previous number.
