RELEASED Bees! v:Unstable/Pre 1.0

I feel really stupid asking this, but is there a guide somewhere on how to use this mod?

 

Is anyone else having trouble finding Nocturnal drones?

 

Am I missing something, because I can't get my crossbreeding bees (volcanic & arctic) to produce an adaptive queen.

 

Some possibilities:

1. Some bees are only active at certain times of the day. Is the beehive active (animated with little bees flying around it) during the times you're looking for the queen?

2. Where are you looking for the queen? Only drones will appear in the beehive output slots. Queens will appear flying around the hive, and you'll need to use your bug net to catch them.

I didn't know anything about the queens flying free... I had no idea. Thank you!

Advice taken, added a line to the breeding guide about that.

They spawn at night on normal/forest biomes, but for some reason they were way rarer despite having the spawn settings as other bees. I tweaked it, they should be easier to find in the current version as of 8:25 PM EST (I just hotfixed the spawn increase into the current version.)

Also I'm reading about mites. How do you know if you have them? How can you get rid of them aside from the anti-mite frame? How do you know when you've gotten rid of them?

Just reporting, i don't know if this is intended or not but apparently this mod (Not sure as i got it with S3r1ous Mods mod pack) is removing the bug net craft from the wooden crafting table, maybe from iron and robotic aswell (haven't gotten there yet) making it craftable only on the apiary table. Had a bit of trouble finding the bug net craft due to that.

I feel a bit stupid to ask this here but eh, who cares.
You see i build my base on an asteroid field, that as i now noticed doesnt have a Day/Night cycle. there for lunar bees dont work, therefor im now trying to rush to a eclipse frame.
But i dont know what Bees produce the hematite. it would be really nice if someone could tell me so i can go get the signifcant bees, (im right now trying with the nocturnal bees, however gotten no item jet)

Also wasnt there a wiki for this Mod once? where that go?

It's been a while since I've used this mod... how do I go about using it again? It'd be nice if the mod details page also told you how to get started...

 

Alrighty then eclipse frames do not work. i tried every possible combination, normal apiary, big apiary, many flowers, few flowers, nothing no work beeing done by the bees nothing.

 

Been downloading mods all day getting back into starbound, and I came across an error. Probably a Conflict with Ore Plants or FrackinUniverse, but when I launch, I get an error complaining about a duplicate entry for Liquid Honey.

 

My Bees aren't doing anything :/ Their apiaries remain empty of anything even after I put them into their slots.

 

Some questions to help pinpoint the problem:

1. Are you using compatible bee species? In order to get honey produced (at a reasonable rate) you'll need compatible bees. This means a Queen and a Drone of the same species, or of two species that will breed to make new bees (see the front page for a breeding list).

2. Is it the right time of day for your bees? Some bees only produce in the daytime and some will only produce at night. You will need to be on the same planet as your apiary during the appropriate time of day for your bees to produce items. They won't produce when you're off-planet, and if it's the wrong time of day, they'll be sleepy.

3. Are there flowers near your beehive? Bees need flowers to make honey, after all! Plucking any of the flowers that get you flower petals should give you flower seeds to plant those flowers. They can be planted on any dirt without tilling.

4. Did you make a frame for them at the Apiary Crafting Station? You'll need a frame in the frame slot of your apiary. The basic frame only needs Wood and will do the job just fine!
