Stupid/Lazy. A lot of people assume 'This is the internet, I don't need to use correct grammar or spelling.' In reality typing grammatically correct helps immensely in school and casual conversation, you don't even have to think about after a while and it just happens naturally.

 

People usually are likely to make less mistakes in spelling if they are reading a lot. Kids don't read anything more than fanfiction(it is not a literarture and usually have written by kids) and comixes(Am I spell it right?) so it is not a big surprise in their bad spelling.

 

Spelling.

In my defense, at least the ponyfics I read spell 95% or above of their words correctly.

That comment of her's really killed me, "If I'm not smiling in a picture, I look sad."

 

It's an oddly astute observation they, the writers, and Scootaloo made there. Isn't it funny how, when you're just kinda blank-faced (maybe while waiting in line or something), you look sad or angry? My sis says I look angry all the time when I do that.

 

Maybe because you read only top-rated ones? I don't read fanfiction at all, because it's not interesting for me, but all "writers" who try to put something at forum can't even write a grammar correct post. Frankly speaking 90% of everypony.ru can't write correctly. That is first reason i flee from that forum here. The second one is too pride and arrogant admins of EP and "elite users' around them. They can everything. You can nothing.

 

A fic I'm editing for someone (which is incredibly well done) can't breach 100 likes. Top-rated would be over 1200 likes? Something like that. I guess it just so happens a lot of writers on Fimfiction actually, you know, write as their living, or at in their twenties, or even - gasp! - care about the craft. I won't argue that any other fanfic site has good grammar, because they don't. I know this aaaaaaaall too well.

It seems like the first sign of trouble is when people are too lazy to write in complete sentences when they have all the time in the world to do so. Over IM or something, I forgive lazy typing, but on a forum, not so much. I think you made a good decision coming here. I haven't seen too much trouble here at all. Some from regular members, maybe a bit form staff, but not that much at all.

 

Soooo how many Luna fans are here? It's interesting for me how much foreign bronies like her.

 

I'm actually not a fan of her. This picture of her was kickass, so I'm using it for the time beeing. I usually have bee-related icons around here. I prefer the Celestias over the Lunas

 

What's about me... I don't like Celestia. And Twilicorn with Cadence. Only Luna. only hardcore. I don't know why.

 

Twilight Sparkle is my least favorite character, actually. I love Cadance for her back story, as it feels like she earned her horn more than Twi her wings. And with recent episodes she's become this extreme adrenaline junky in my head, what with the preference for fighting giant worms over an afternoon at a convention. My wishlist includes Sunset Shimmer becoming the main character, but it won't happen, ever, sadly.

I used to dislike Celestia a lot, but I just looked at her a different way, and that changed entirely...

 

Sunset Shimmer are incomplete character and a bit silly. Her plan is very very stupid. Why she try to mindcontrol kids instead of human army? Why she can't just steal crown again? Why she release Spike instead of trade him for crown? Her plan with breaking a mirror is stupid too but it at least can be judged like step of desperate.

 

Well, you got me there. Her appearance in EqG's not why I like her; the short story about her in the IDW comics is why. She's still incomplete even then, but she has the makings to be interesting.

Hmm. Interesting...
I think Equestria have lack of really good villain. Smart and strong... and don't wrong at all. But it's more likely for grey&grey morality not for Black&white in MLP.

 

Could i ask you to please not insult Fanfiction?It is more of a literature than many books.
And while many of them are not exactly great they are still..an outlet.They help people to improve grammatic skills and some of them are REALLY good.

 

Sunset's pretty unique as Twilight's true foil. Trixie doesn't count anymore at this point with Sunset around. She WAS Celestia's student, and their dispositions were very much the same at one point, except Sunset didn't have faith in her teacher. For all intents and purposes, I believe Sunset is as strong and intelligent as Twilight, something Trixie wasn't (Trixie is still almost best pone in my book). Sunset isn't a monster, in her own words, but she's one of the furthest things there is to a good guy in MLP.

I'd say Chrysalis is the closes we get to black in the scale. I refuse to believe she was just acting in the interest of her hive, or that they need love to survive. Maybe something else happened to her in the past that made her 'evil', but I doubt what she has done in the series was motivated by those things.

To be fair, most fan fiction is nothing approaching literature, or even worthwhile. Still, there are fics that surpass many published books out there, but fan fiction is still very much a niche.

 

Let's not forget how many great authors started out as fic writers
