Anyways, I post inane things on other forums all the time, so doing it here shouldn't be too hard.

Heeey! Apparently the forums dying temporarily is good for bringing people back to the clan (and bringing new people, too!). Who knew? Good to see you all!

For the new people wanting to join (@fogey89 @Data_Ninja @Cloudswirl), the @Clan BBTS's permissions seem to have changed due to the forum update. It doesn't have permission to even view this thread, let alone edit the OP, so I can't "officially" add anyone to the clan right now. But regardless, feel free to join in the conversation!

I'm pretty sure @Jonesy is our go-to guy for asking about stuff like this - any idea what's going on? I'm guessing it's something to do with Clans being changed to Hangout threads.

For those unaware, Discord is a completely free server-based IM & Voice Chat service. Think TeamSpeak mixed with Skype, minus the video chat. And the best part? You don't need to download anything. You don't even need to sign up if you don't want to. Just click the link above, and you'll be whisked away to our Discord channel. You can start chatting immediately, and if you decide you do want to get in it for the long haul, you can sign up and download the application, which is about as CPU-intensive as task manager. That's about 6-8x less than Skype, for the record. Unfortunately, for the time being, our resident server host @Midnight_Blitz has been out of commission due to a broken modem, but if/when he gets that taken care of, that Discord channel will also be where the voice chat is if/when the Starbound server is back up.

Edit: There is no if. It will be when. I have three plans of action to get it up, and two I'd rather not take. One, I would need to take more time. The others are... Drastic.

It's new modem, REFORMAT, or tell them they messed up, which is tougher to do than you think.

Either way, my own computer will be the only offline device for some time. Kinda wish my backup still worked now...
ALRIGHT! Ethernet seems to (finally) be working for me, which means I have internet on the comp again(except unexpected unplug downtimes due to poor location.)

Really, though, this makes me all the more happy that I can work the server again. I may as well explain it here once again since the rules for it are slightly different to the Discord chat:


As Kirby has said, I am the one hosting the BBTS server at the moment. It isn't dedicated, but dat internet speed, though. Being able to keep my computer on for months on end, the capacity of it, as well as my internet speeds all make the reason I've been doing this.

Here's the catch: To get the Dynamic DNS IP (clever words that are hard to forget once you get it), you need to be a BBTS member. With conditions as they are, if you asked to be a member and aren't on the front page yet, I'll consider you one if you're intent on it.

You'll then either:
1. Be told what it is on Discord when the time comes if you're using that with us.
2. Be sent to a conversation that constantly has it on the first post.

On the server, depending on the content released recently and if this is a second/third/fiftieth run or not, we'll play:
-Vanilla only. Only client side-only mods are allowed.
-Vanilla w/ Sprinkles. Mods will be voted on, but not heavy game changing mods.
-Chocolate: Almost every mod, just nothing OP like Creative Mode, Railgun, etc.(Do those even get updated anymore?)
-Gimme Everything. Every mod everyone wants in will be discussed no matter how OP.

If it's a new build, we usually play with fresh characters and do not allow item transfers until we reach the boss tier of the previous character. Unless otherwise stated, that is.

So yeah. I'm probably playing GW2 today due to the timeframe I have to play games, but I'll usually put a stable/unstable up per request.
