[BBTS] Bronies Beyond the Stars V4.0

Probably my favorite pizza I've ever had to date was one I built myself via Pizza Hut. It's a kind of Buffalo Chicken pizza, but with honey sriracha, cherry peppers, and bacon as well. It was one of those "on a whim" things when I initially made it, but I've yet to order anything else from Pizza Hut since.

Oh, and hi, I'm back from my vacation that I completely forget whether or not I informed y'all of here. ^_^;

So... I've finished season 5 today (rather quite now)... I've also listened to advices friends gave me and watched Equestria Girls... all of them... it started with first movie on Monday... I was a bit hesitant at first, after all, if you told me two years ago I'd watch it, I'd probably laugh at you... at that time - I came for ponies, why would I want to watch "teen girl high school musical"... how could I be so wrong?

Well... to put it short, I loved it, way more than I would expect... am a little sad that I joined everyone in the Big Pony Hiatus (I caught up on everything, but it's been really long time since I watched first 3 seasons), but that's not the reason I have mixed feelings... this has been happening to me ever since I can remember, that when I enjoyed something a really lot, I got in rather sad mood that I could not become part of it... damn you, imagination!
I am considering to start sweeping throgh (secondhand) bookshops looking for diaries and books describing any paranormal activity around and start compilig it together... I can have hope... no, I'm not insane, why'd you ask?

Also, I have new my new favorite pony song - ACADECA, it's the one from Friendship Games during first round of Games (the lyrics start with "We're gonna take you down")... I found that soundtrack is quite cheap on Google Play, so I got it... Friendship Games was probably movie I enjoyed the most of the three... although from what I've heard people enjoyed second the most... well, in my opinion the third even had the best soundtrack...

I rather liked this season, as for the two parter:

People complained about Starlight's motivation for destroying Equestria, but it was heavily implied that she didn't know the outcome of her actions and that in her mind it didn't extend past spoiling her arch-nemesis' friendships, so I was cool with it. I wish that she would have turned around in the end and still reject Twilight's teachings and try to do her own thing in a kind of anti-hero way. The war could have been animated better, but the staff at DHX could only do so much so I won't complain about it. All in all, good. Not the best, but still something that I didn't gag over.

Equestria girls is peculiar because it just seems the opposite from what MLP represented, high octane(at times) adventure with a tone of light magic and breaking stereotypes(except for the evil affeminate speaking manager), but I guess it was a good way to have a break from all of that anyways so I enjoyed it to some extent.

You don't have to worry about walls of text, nobody'll judge you for it or anything. When I was here a while back I posted so many walls of text that I could probably block the eye of sauron's view with its height. Keep posting what's on your mind and just do it. I mean look at this kid, he's living it up:

Anyway, I still need to get around to the second half of season 5, and the Equestria Girls movies too. From what I've seen the rest of S5 is pretty great! Also, nice drawing!

 

I'd never even heard of Picarto until it was mentioned here.

I must say, I was a bit disappointed Twilight's magic didn't top that of Starlight's... out of elements, Twilight was the element of magic, now, after her alicorn ascension, my canon was she was actually more powerful than any living pony (I'd maybe exclude Royal Sisters, but they would be mostly at tie). I know the situation itself was more complicated than that, yet I believe she should've been able to outsmart Starlight... beside that Starlight's motivation turn seemed a bit unexected... I guessed she'd turn after seeing the wasteland - which seemed like the strongest point... to make an analogy, it feels strange for a wall to collapse after being hit by a pebble when it withstood hit by a boulder few moments ago...

But I've started with so much criticism, it might seem I didn't enjoy it, actually, the opposite is the truth... it was great! I'm curious what they have planned for her in the next season...

Actually now we have so much to look forward, as not only next season was confirmed, but they also announced a full-scale pony movie to be released in 2017 and we were even promised 4th EqG!

I didn't think I'd enjoy EqG that much, but now it is on par with how much I enjoyed the show itself... I know some people might start to dislike me for those words (this heresy!), as FIM is some sort of sacred to them... I had similar point of view 2 years ago, but since then it changed and so I ejoyed the movies a lot...

It was kind of strange at first to get over the fact that M6 girls other than Twi are not the equestrian poines themselves, it felt like they were left out and replaced by someone... but I got over it pretty quickly... it might be also the setting of the movie itself - american high school, what made it so interesting to me... I find it's entire concept fascinating, as in my country, the high school wasn't nearly as interesting, in my opinion... there were no competitions, no bands, no interests that would bond people together... it was just a school where you'd go to every day and leave to meet friends outside... that is, if you were lucky enough to have them (I was lucky, but I can't say the same for everyone else)...

The movie concept itself didn't seems that much different from FiM to me... it was still promoting friendship, a villain shown the other way and accpeted to become a good friend... the breaking of stereotypes was one of the main ideas of both the show and EqG (except, as you mentioned, they didn't manage to avoid them all, hence principal Abacus Cinch).

And lastly, the entire plot happenes in a world inhabitated by humans... I think there is another psychological aspect that made it so popular - that being the fact we were told that "Equestria is just behind the corner, it exists, you just need a special way (a portal) to reach it". That was a though MANY people wanted to hear... now the idea of magic in our world might seem a bit strange... well, if you think about it, in EqG they were traveling across dimensions... they arrived at dimension, that was similar to ours, but noone said it was ours - but it has linked existence of those two dimensions and dimensional travel together, if you know what I mean... and if dimensional travel becomes a thing...
Okay, now I'm just fantasizing, but... who knows what we are yet to discover...

Do it, I say, just do it! Watch it all... I was in exactly this situation this Monday - and through entire week I went through all of that... I've actually heard there are shorts and other peieces of story hiden on the internet, so I'll just spend some time digging them out while waiting for the Hiatus to end...

... but really, it's just my opinion, but what lies in front of you is full-scale epic!

I actually made a new drawing of my OC to use as an avatar... it actually came out better than I expected... well, had to make some edits I noticed after uploading it... lucky both dA and tumblr don't make hassle around it... her muzzle was too rectangular looking, she actually started looking like a colt... well... here it is...

Yay! The forums live! It sounds like clans are no longer a thing officially, but I like the clan structure so we may as well keep it. (Although, we've never done a whole lot with it anyway).

 

I'll be honest, I do find clans useless with Discord excisting, much easier to organize.
Oh, the loss of my laptop still weighs heavy on my mind, but I almost have enough money for a new one.
Things are looking up on most fronts, I'm fixing my broken education, and I'm looking for a job.
I actually feel content with my life, and I'm smiling a lot lately( It feels weird , my face stretches so much)

Hello. I've posted here before back in like 2013 (has it been that long? Wow.) and I heard about the forum attack and then the revival so I figured bow is as good as time as any to get into the forums again.

Apparently I never joined. Guess I'll have to fix that. Might as well. Atleast when I get around to it anyways.

I plan on trying to stick around but no guarantee, I'm pretty forgetful, my attention span is non existent.
