I know this is just really early speculation, but maybe one day they might reconcile or come to terms with Hasbro and make a, "Through the portal" DLC where Equestria is open to their world. On the one hand, they don't need it(and I wouldn't mind them leaving it behind) because they're trying to create an original ip, but it might serve as closure if they tinker with the ideas a bit. I'm really liking the steady rock theme they're going on too, since it's hard to create ost's nowadays without real inspiration. Looking good so far, and I'd give them money if not for me already trying to pay for classes. Here's to hopes for the best.
- Portal to Equestria: Yeah, probably not gonna happen. However because of the fact that the initial cast all came from the mane 6 movesets from Fighting is Magic, once modding is figured out, (if it isn't already in the Z-Engine from Skullgirls) modding in assets to replace the Foenum ones is a possibility. I personally wouldn't want to, ofc, because as you said, it is it's own IP, and I like the characters and the style they have. But yeah, the option will most likely present itself for those who would prefer the mane 6, as well as alternate pony equivalents for future characters. - Rock Theme: That theme, mind you, is ONLY the main theme. Keep in mind, every character will have a theme, every stage will have a theme, and every character will have a variant of that stage's theme for the dynamic music. - Request Dosh: I know the feel. Been stretching my money extremely thin as of late. I do have a potential job cropping up due to a family business venture, so we'll just have to see where that goes, I suppose.
I forgot all about the talented modders out there. Seeing as the engine they're working on is relatively common, they might be able to be really inventive with the program. Maybe the team will purposely put Easter eggs in the game such as old skins and drawn movesets in the form of hidden blueprints. I dunno, it's just fun to think of all the cool things they might do/hide. Also got to remind myself not to be too hype about it.
Oh yeah, they're states, I know... it's just that old habits die hard... mosty because in Czechia there's a word that's used for both "state" and "country" and is derived from the word state itself - the word is "stát" (read with prolonged A)... that can be pretty confusing... I'm not sure about that city-state thing, though... from what I know (and that is how the term city-state is used in my homeland the surrounding countries), city-states are just cities that gained status of a country, like Vatican, or Singapore... ... also it's funny how some american companies forget that US is one of the only few countries that have something like states and the field "state" is required when making online purchases... like, what are we suposed to fill in? I believe I've read somewhere that Fighting is Magic was taken down because Hasbro and Faust did not want to have their show associated with a game based purely around fighting... and all emotions aside, I actually do believe the game would go against the message the show is trying to give... but Faust seemed happy to contribute to a charater design of a new game... ... I don't really think that TFH will ever officially see original MLP cast... of course unless fans mod them in, which, on the other hand, seems more than likely...
Close, but not quite. Lauren has nothing to do with Hasbro. She is, in a manner of speaking, a "Freelance Director". She, occasionally alongside her husband Craig McCracken, create a show for a network, assemble a team of writers and animators, then mostly leave the team to their own devices, though they might occasionally drop in an episode or two they themselves wrote. When it came to MLP, it was basically the same. She created- er... "re-imagined" the show, pulled together a group of writers and animators, wrote a couple of the episodes for the first season to give the writers an idea of the characters she was going for, and since the end of Season 1, completely left the team to work on another project she was called in to do. (Super Best Friends Forever) The story pretty much remains the same for Them's Fighting Herds, with a few differences. First off, she heard of the project only after the C&D, learning of it from a mass of people who had contacted her thinking she could do something about the C&D. She saw the project, saw how dedicated the team was, felt bad for the people behind the team, and offered her services to do what she has always done; create. Clearly, we can all see the effects that has had on the project. After it releases, her tale will likely be the same; she will move on, and if the devs contact her for a few new characters to add more content to the game, she'll draw them up, write them into the canon, and slide right back out. Now as for Hasbro and DHX, (just covering bases) funnily enough, the C&D sent to Mane6, as well as most other Cease and Desist letters, do not go through the at all. In fact, odds are the company doesn't even know the C&D has been filed until the massive amounts of outrage starts flooding their inboxes. Inboxes I wouldn't be surprised if they were being closely filtered by the ones really behind most every C&D sent, the legal team. Now, unfortunately, I can't say much from personal experience, but JanAnimations does a really good job summing it all up in laymans terms here:
That about sums it up, though you forgot the giant robots that invaded Lauren's home when she was a child and imbued her with magical story-telling powers. Just thought I'd remind you. ...ALSO! Before I forget, here's a pretty amazing metal medley for everyone: Even if you aren't a metal fan(the same as I) his songs are more than entertaining and should be checked out when possible. Thanks kirby for reminding me of him with the ost of "Thems Fighting Herds." Night erybody, peace!
Lol The beginning act is full of things that put me off. Exposition, Rainbow not understanding what a band room probably full of guitar strings is, and a villain that doesn't act like a person in her position, but there were some things that intrigued me such as the better animation quality and Sunset Shimmer's interesting dilemma of her magic book. Other than that I can't say much more since I haven't gotten a proper opinion on it, but if I have to say anything about it, it's that it is interesting. The main theme of forgiveness and redemption/overcoming past wrongdoings that is prevalent in the show stands out well in the movie because it's a former villain that we're focusing on instead of just our heroes. If anybody here hasn't watched it yet and can get past the first act without many qualms, then definitely give it a go. Also Tabitha St. Germain. Watch it for her too, since she's a great human being. To make my point, here's some of her great quotes: "If my eyes were bigger than my stomach there would be cake all over my glasses." "I've been unleashed on a buffet. There is no punchline. Yet." "salmonquesadillaspierogichickenbeastpastacurrysashimisaladskebabsbennys, mystery caskets of I need my glasses, desert table CAKE only 1 gob" "Pure savagery and over so fast. Stomach has a tank like a hybrid. Full by 15 dollars. (fills purse with pudding) #buffet" "Don't wanna brag, but my work has been described as: Sensational Satisfying Pure Yum Meaty A Meal in a Can Wait, no. This is cat food." Yes, I did in fact jizz straight in my pants.
I... what... I just watched the last Rick and Morty episode... they ended it with so insane cliffhanger I can't even... ... I have quite mixed feelings about it... probably the strongest one is: COME ON, THAT AIN'T FAIR! WE NEED ANOTHER EPISODE! ... if you like the show, go watch it... but be sure to watch it in order... Is that Equestria Girls? To be honest, I never found interest in this part of MLP... to me it just seemed a little bit off, it went against what I was enjoying about the show... so... my answer is no, I haven't seen the new movie, nor I have seen any of the previous ones...
I actually recommend them. The first is a bit tacky. But the other two are actually ...better than most MLP seasons. The animation is superb. The Story is good. (Especially in the second one) and the songs are amazing.
I've only seen the first. I think I have the others on Netflix, so I should get around to watching them sometime.
Hmm... better, you say? Well... maybe I should check them out after all... only that I came over the first movie and it really did not catch my interest... I wasn't around when the second movie came out... and of course, the last one was aired by the end of September...
And they already have the ffirst 18 minutes of the next one done. They are really pumping those out quickly.
Fixed. If ya think animation/film production is 100% linear, you're sorely mistaken. Usually, it's the shots they're planning to use for promotional material that gets the highest priority. Then they'll work on it semi-linearly, though a team with multiple animators like DHX probably has their animators working on different scenes at different times. (in films with large time gaps and [facial] hair growth, the scenes with the most [facial] hair are shot first)
