I smirked as the jabbawookies ran right past me, it seemed like it was a good decision to hide on the ceiling beams after all, the only issue I had was getting down now. It seemed like My intense fear of heights reminded me that I am not a cat, but this was a mistake quickly fixed, green fire surrounded my form and i quickly changed into a cat, i had to hurry tough since the house was now on fire. I was sure that it would be a good distraction while I stole the hearth of gold.
I'd love to write. But i ahve huge issues with correctly wording my sentences. I am sure that i have improved a lot in the past year..... But i don't think that i could make up a decent story. ...I am also pretty sure that i just combineda wookie and the thing from Alice in wonderland into one creature.
Well you're not really bad at wording it. I didn't really notice anyway. Combining creatures is also how famed or ancient writers made their creatures up, such as the gryphon and the minotaur.
Please, that's nonsense... as long as you have a story to tell, the wording itself is a minor problem... it might put people off as it makes text harder to read, but there's not a writing that can't be corrected... just go for it, do it... and be sure to put it here afterwards
Your avatar looks like it's pressuring me ALso : was bored and did this : Sooooo I was bored and decided to write a "poem" Light. All encompassing light, so blinding and bright, it fills my body with might, brings it to a new height. Elevating me to something more, I can feel it in my core, Breaking off me like the waves on the shore. I could do so much with it, control the world like I see fit, off everybody I could get rid, cast them into a deep pit. But i refuse to fall into this role, for I would not be whole. Without friends by my side, I just would be an empty hide. So I will take this light, and cast off anything tragic.
Thanks to the wonders of internet, I am a bit unsure, whether this was meant positively or negatively... Aren't you from Austria? And you just wrote a poem in English? Hat's off to you... ... I would actually have troubles writing a poem even in my naive language... I like how rythmic the poem is. It actually feels easy to read and remember I'd say... also feels quite... pure... I mean, many poems I read had those complex structures, that, of course show the language proficency of the autor, but also make the poem really hard to comprehend... I'm looking for a meaning, a story told in an elegant way... ... well, that's just my opinion... ... and in case that didn't seem clear... great job... like, really!
... that old saved draft I didn't notice while posting... ... I did not have a chance to finish the post yesterday... and it became clear afterwards anyways... but seems like this site just wanted me to post it... so I'm just lucky it saved said draft at the moment the sentence made sense and it did not come out offensive... derp...
Australians to my knowledge speak english. And koalian/kangare. I'm also fairly certain that that's not racist.
Austria and Australia are two very different places, actually! Common misunderstanding. Austria is located in Europe, East of Germany (if I remember correctly).
Exactly! Also southwest of Czechia, so... given that's my homeland, we're techically neighbors ^^ Geez, worry not! I used to not believe how can people confuse two countries, like... they're freaking countires, they're huge, right? Then I realised I myself have extremely limited knowledge of the US coutries, for instance... I could tell you where's California, Florida, Texas... now also Virginia, since my brother's there... but beside that... do I look really silly now? It takes other another perspective to understand...
Confusing Austria and Australia is a surprisingly common mistake. Especially for people from austria who don't really speak english... Our country is is called Österreich in our native language. I can see why it has a different name in english.
Wow... it just came to my as I saw the name of your contry written... I did not notice it before, but doesn't Österreich translate as East Empire, or East Kingdom? I was hearing it's name for years and never stopped at what it could mean... it was always just Österreich... or Rakousko in my country
Evident by the fact that the regions in the US are considered States rather than Countries, while the US is the name for the Country itself. (I believe most other countries call them "City-States", though there are a few differences as I recall) Not at all. I guarantee you, at LEAST 33% of the US Population would have trouble coming up with every single state in the US from memory. Most only remember those with the most sentimental meaning, the most popular, or a combination of the two. Now, most would be able to recognize State names as States when told, but that's usually the extent that people remember. I know exactly what you mean. My father is a US resident that came over from Brazil. As such, all my family on his side are in multiple City-States within Brazil. Yet, to this day, I STILL only remember one, Rio De Janeiro. Three guesses why.
