So I'm officially a nerd. I went to my first Friday Night Magic or FNM, and had fun. The vest $13.50 I ever spent. Or 19.50 in New Zealand. Anyways, I'm going to watch Jurrassic perks right now, I hope it's fun!

From watching the old movies and loving them(except maybe for the second one), I can say that if you haven't watched the first(which I think you said you may have not), please do... oh my, I think the nostalgia is putting a tear in my eye...

What made them make you censor it? Did it resemble too much of... that thing I've not seen anyone mention explicitly and therefore won't mention explicitly for the reason that some lurking around may be young or uncomfortable mentioning it?

Oh yeah guys, one more thing: If it's not too weird, can I ask what made you either join the fandom or watch the show? I'm not implying any gender/age stereotypes, I'm just curious as to how you guys got interested.

Yeah I thought they were cute too. I kinda want to save my "story" for last since it's probably the sappiest and... that's all I can say for now. Glad that yours was simple, expected long story(which is perfectly fine, even encouraged), but I'm about to go to sleep and I'd have to wait till morning to read all of it. Also, who's Kawa?

That's not too unlike myself. I wasn't sold by the images and characters, but I was definitely interested. And at the time, I was watching some of the game shows playing on the Hub, and there were commercials for the show at the same time that got me eve more interested, so I decided to look up the pilot on youtube... Then the third episode, then the rest of the season one in that same night.

 

Ah, you were interested because of its popularity, or because the Hub was pressing it on their commercials? Either way, that's also not too unlike myself...
And swear words. I swear...

As for how I got into the fandom, I believe it was Zailiner's fault. In fact, I think I got into the fandom (the art and music sides) before I even watched the show. Then I asked for what the best episode was (I was given the S2 finale) and watched it, liked it, and went and watched the rest. I think the thing that made me curious was its popularity to begin with.

 

Yeah, I meant the Jurassic Park movie(s). As for the old MLP movies, we can all use a rewatching, am I right?

Cool! I'm so glad popularity was the case this time. Whenever I think of MLP and popularity, I think of the people who abhor bronies and pegasisters just for liking the show, but now I get to see someone who had a positive effect from it's popularity in... well, "person." I too was introduced through word of mouth in a way. I was confused as to why people my age would like the show(I didn't dislike them, I just thought that it was impressive that it could gain such a following), but never went to watching it until the depression came. I always laughed when thoughts came to the point of suicide, always making jokes and laughing about it with friends to convince myself that I wasn't going to do it. The cold silence hung around me though, and hung over me with more pressure than ever after I was done with one day. I turned on Netflix and saw that MLP was popular and decided to watch- laughter ensued. The reason I was depressed was because my friends were all gone, and one for good. I didn't think that there could be so much color and happiness in one place, so whether I cried or not is not up to me to say, as I was distracted watching pastel colored ponies do their thing. Not only that, but brony friends- face to face or real life- were so kind and never doubted that I was too, even when I was abrasive or quiet at times. That's why I'm so glad FireKirby sent me here(and now he probably regrets it because of picturespam picturespam picturespam), because it's a fun place with great people. Or aliens. Hey, I don't judge.

Anyways, if anybody else wants to share how they got here, I'd be grateful. (Even you lurkers out there).

I think it's helped me grow as a person too. I'm a Christian, you see, and before I got into the show I was kind of thinking, "If these bronies are so much nicer than me, what kind of Christian am I?" So now I'm a brony and a Christian and I'm a much nicer person because of it

Heyo, anyone here have a character they want drawn? I want to take commissions in the future so I'd like a bit of practice in the meantime. Preferably human characters and waist-up at the moment (although I'd give ponies a try), nothing nsfw etcetera etcetera.

I haven't picked up my tablet in ages so expect a traditional drawing, at least to begin with! (Also you might notice almost all the samples are drawn facing the same direction and are female - you aren't restricted to that, it's just how I've been drawing recently.)

 

If it's just for fun, can you draw anyone with a squid hat like takeru made in the first episode of squid girl? Or anybody/thing with a squid head. OR A PONY WITH A SQUID HEAD!

I'll sketch it up today in my sketchbook and see if I can scan it. Then tomorrow, I'll try to get a livestream going and ink/colour it (and some other stuff) digitally. It's been a while since I've done something like that Maybe I'll revive my old pony ask-blog? It's only been like, what, two years since I last updated?
