I find this funny considering you have a Tumb1r which is drama central. As for FiMfic, people would just act grossly superior simply because they got a little popular. I got into argument once because someone older than me thought it "A O-Kay" to bully someone else simply because they wrote a trashy clop-fic. She likes to consider herself an expert on all things smut apparently, which involves her acting like she's the same age (if not younger) as her daughter as well.
Again.. if you not how to avoid it its all good. I tend to follow mainly ask blogs and only a few mod blogs (drama tends to appear a lot more there which is why I am selective in which mod blogs I follow.) ^^
Ok ok. Hi. How's BBTS today? (A question to BBTS as a whole, not individuals). I shall post the daily Gif Moe moe... KYUN
There's a knee-jerk hatred of gay shipping around Fimfic, while 90% of generic shipping is lesbian. So yeah, there's that too.
Yeah, that's bothers the hell out of me too, while I may not prefer reading the romance between males, it still deserves it's place. In fact, all the generic lesbian shipping is really annoying to me, it's always Lyra & Bon Bon, Vinyl & Octy, Rainbow Dash & *insert anyone and/or anything here*, Lotus & Aloe, or Luna & Celestia.
It's either TwiDash (the generic ship), AppleDash (the generic alternative to the generic ship), AppleDashLight (for when you want it all), TwiLestia (your generic soap opera ship), TwiLuna (your generic dark/adventure ship) or OctaScratch (your generic realistic conflict ship/comedy ship), from what I have seen. The fact that you can safely say that there's a 'generic version' of any of these ships is pretty telling
Honestly I don't care for most of the mane six shipping with each other. It doesn't bother me but it seems sometimes just to be fan service. Though some do it very well still. I have seen some fic shipping like RD with big mac.. and it was really good actually.
The general public has a hunger for romance, and generally only cares about the important characters of a work, with a few exceptions (like Derpy and Lyra). If you put two and two together, it's basically fanservice I will admit, I have read excellent main six shipping, but on the whole I'm just sick of seeing it. I feel like many authors are simply unable to explore their relationships anymore because they have seen it all (all the obvious things) themselves already. I actually see it all the time in fics where the entirety of the six is in a relationship with each other, or hell, in a big six-way relationship. At that point the author's just splurging, and who wants to read someone else's splurge?
The Vinyl & Octy bother me the most since it just doesn't make sense to me, I just can't see them being anything but rivals. Although, the ones where they are roommates can be pretty funny.
The only common ground at all that they had for the longest time was that they were both musicians; now, they've even been in the same episode together! You clearly are unable to see a true bond forming between them. #Octascratch4lyfe #yoloswag420
No! You don't understand the clear bond between Rainbow Dash and that house over there! They've been seen in like 30 episodes together! It's a match made in Elysium!
You're insane. Dash is clearly in love with Town Hall; did you see how much she risked trying to protect it from that spawn of Discord? So what if that house was with her so many times; it can open its doors as wide as it wants, but Dash won't ever come inside I'm sorry
Psh! She can have both! They can just be in a herd together! HA! beat that, I just brought in the big guns, the Lero-verse
Don't you dare bring that fic into this Barring my distaste for it, calling it a herd is presumptuous. Dash would clearly use their native dialect, and call their family a neighborhood.
Yes, where she's lead mare. I can't help but like it for it's world building and the thought process that ponies really are different from humans. What do you think their Gazebos will look like~?
Big Mac has experience with gazebos, so they'd ask him for advice I just didn't like Lero as a character, and I think that kind of worldbuilding heavily distracting in the way of making the conflicts more easy swallow and the characters relatable, cuz they're so alien They should make sure that the cracks on the gazebo's floor aren't too big, or that'd be very inappropriate, wink wink.
