  1. Made a distress signal...I am not going to use until I find better things...which will take a long time. ._.

I'm still using the bloody starter sword. It really bugs me that most of the first stuff you find or can craft isn't even better than the starter sword.

  4. I crafted some XL sword thingy that was level 5 and it cut through almost all monsters that were levels 1-4 in one shot. Pretty different from my starter sword.

These updates are going to murder my monthly bandwidth limits. Maybe I should back off until the second beta phase.

That's life's balance for you. I've only had 1 crash, and only found one random encounter (cultist, got a neat hammer). Granted, I only just realized I could fuel my ship with coal, so I'm still on the first planet.

Coal and unrefined wood. These are indeed advanced spaceships that can run on such diverse fuel sources.

Found an awesome great sword made out of organs or something, and it does a boatload of damage and projects blood with each swing. It's legendary too.

Dammit, Starbound has stopped working. It's showing up in the processes tab of Task Manager, but not the Applications tab, and it's not visible on my task bar or in my tray. The launcher runs fine, but not the actual game.

EDIT: Spotify isn't working either. I think a restart may be in order.

Welp as it turns out, when you dig deep enough, you just end up finding an endless pool of lava, that's nice...

Anypony want to hear a very long 'headcanon' I just wrote down? Good.

Personal thoughts of ponies as a species, by Lyra Heartstrings

Pony biology, from head to hooves

Starting off, a pony's ears are not as sensitive as their large size may seem to make them. As a matter of fact, they can only hear around the range of human ears and not much more.

The large eyes of a pony are not, in fact, decorative. They help communicate with others, and allow a pony to pick up far more light in the dark. The first point likely came from a long history as a herd species, while the additional night vision was used to see predators at night.

The mouth is more of an oval shape compared to humans, being thinner from side to side and longer from the front to back.

A mane typically can hold a shape for a long period of time, as long as it isn't soaked or, for instance, blown in a cyclone or other large gust of wind.

A pony's stomach can in fact hold and digest meat, it's just that the art of killing and eating other creatures is frowned upon severely as most edible creatures in Equestria are to an extent intelligent.

Wings and horns manifest by magic, as all ponies are only one species. Earth ponies' inherit strength and seemingly connection to nature are also magic, but neither require a physical manifestation. Innate magic comes in two forms, external and internal. On the far ends of these scales are unicorns, being nearly entirely external to manipulate magic in the atmosphere. Earth ponies are at the other end, with nearly all of their magic reinforcing their internal structure and connecting them to crops and soil. Pegasi are somewhere inbetween and tend to vary a bit. Half of their magic, the external magic, is used to allow them to manipulate clouds and walk on them. The other half, their internal magic, lets them fly as they aren't actually aerodynamic and their wings are too small to fly alone. Often a pegasus is better at one or the other rather than both. Rainbow Dash is an example of a pony who's exceptional at both, but this is usually linked to a connection to the Element of Loyalty.

Alicorns are magical mutations that are connected to the world in a very unique way, one that only can occur once at a time. These are extremely rare, and while it can manifest in both genders, it more often for some reason occurs in females.

The ratio for males vs. females in Equestria are actually rather normal, it's just Ponyville that has utterly scewed ratios due to the majority of ponies there being earth ponies that are drafted into the royal guard.

Magical events can sometimes change ponies. Minor events typically cause cutie marks, which are generally only created when a pony discovers something they enjoy a great deal or are good at. Major events can create oddities in ponies, such as Twilight's innate magical skill, or sometimes stranger events. Derpy is an example of one. An event early in her life caused the area of a pony's brain that allows them to coordinate to shrink, while at the same time growing the section that learns and stores new information. This gave her a much greater capability for gathering data, but caused her to become much more clumsy later in life. A second example is me, who since I was a filly have received images and sections of human history, culture, technology, and language through strange dreams and "flashbacks".

A pony's hoof is probably the most interesting part, what with the density completely controlled by the pony at hoof :giggle: as well as a magical field that allows one to pick up objects within about a millimeter of it. This is not limited to areas with handles, and can pick up a completely flat piece of paper from the middle of the page quite easily. The hoof physically resembles a marshmallow.

A tail serves mostly as decoration, but can also be manipulated to an extent by muscles that run down it. If you were to shave a pony's tail off, you would end up with something similar to a cat's tail, only a great deal shorter and bald.

The strange and colorful coats ponies now share were a magical mutation caused by Discord that never went away. Before him, pony coats typically blended in with dirt and foliage to hide from predators, but after Celestia and Luna banished Discord few predators have dared to attack ponies.

Not really. It's just that humans have a silly ridiculous time deciding what ponies look like or how they function, so I figured I'd write something about it down. You already have far more information on humans than I do, so no need sharing that.
