  1. Pfffffft, doubt it. All I have to do is just not respond to you. :3

You can have a steam key for The Showdown Effect if you want it.

  11. So I just watched a full playthrough of Amnesia A Machine of Pigs and all I can say is... meh.
Of course I would shit my pants if I ever tried to play it (I haven't finished the first game and I probably never will, I just can't, it's way too much tension for me, I get sucked into being a character way too easily) but I felt like there's something missing, that something you just can't put your finger on.
    MAJOR STORY SPOILERS AHEAD!
First off I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the overall place/timeframe in which the story is being told, the no-inventory approach, beautiful level design and sound (yeeee!) but the story itself was... I don't know, it was unsettling, scary, disgusting but at the same time it didn't feel like an Amnesia game to me.

The game takes place in a meat factory owned by a man named Oswald Mandus and you're playing as him. Long story short - you've returned from a trip to Mexico and began building a "great machine" that will purge the world of filth, beggars, sick (and so on and on and on...) and prevent the inevitable humanity's future which will lead to destruction, wars, despair etc.
Now the idea is okay but what happens in the game is just so fucking creepy and weird it doesn't really make much sense to me.
You're a big man, you own a company, you're a wealthy visionary so you begin building a thinking man-machine that will help you accomplish your goal, right? But what happens next is that you take children from various orphanages and make them work on your machine along with many other workers etc. etc. and after you no longer need their labor you simply put them all into the machine to feed them to it, creating abominations known as the Man-Pigs (spliced half man, half pig with some frankenstein chemicals and experiments) for whatever reason.

I mean what the fuck? Who comes up with that kind of shit xD
So at the beginning of the game you wake up and hear your two boys who apparently want to play with you, you chase after them during the whole game trying to catch up with them only to find out later on that you've sacrificed both of them to the (what I like to call it) Man-Pig Church and that the whole time your children were just your minds imagination.

Also during the whole game the main protagonist will contact you via old telephone machines hanging from the walls (who is the machine I mentioned earlier), you don't know it yet but he uses you throughout the whole game to make... simply put... Swine rise upon the world releasing all of the Man-Pigs onto the streets creating havoc everywhere, pigs eating men, robbing, fighting, killing, eating humans... oh you know just YOUR FUCKING REGULAR DEADLY MAN-PIG OUTBREAK

But the ending... the fucking ending
It would be cool if they didn't mix so much old civilisations/alien/artefacts/magic or shit like that into games like Amnesia. Industrial-visionary-maniac wanting to purge the world of filth is a brilliant idea in itself, it didn't need any weird aztec temples under the meat factory or anything like that, come on...
Besides the player has no idea what is going on at the very end of the game, you suddenly descend into the pyramid/machine under the city where you take a seat on the "throne" of the machine, weird robot arms clamp onto you and you press a button and that's it.
    End of the game.
    Wtf.

I have some mixed feelings about this game, the idea is cool but I don't feel like the execution is there.
I really do hope that next game will be made by Frictional Games (not the Chinese Room) on their updated version of HPL engine.
They even gave us a concept art for it.

"Alter Ego" is most likely not what you're thinking of.
    And it's called Dangan Ronpa.

Also, if you decide to check it out, there is a both a game of it and an anime (anime based on the game). Although the best way to go through the game without ordering it from Japan and/or translating it yourself is to read the LP of it. And the anime is currently airing (new episodes subbed every Friday).

Oh yea, brought my Derpy bag to school for the first time today; that thing is a huge brony magnet. I even saw a few people hi-fiving not knowing they were bronies.
