Ever build an awesome base on your non-home planet? just so you can lose it 5 minutes later... this suggestion is simple: in the ship navigator, 2 new buttons. 1: (only when orbiting a planet) Add current planet as base. Only available when in the same star system as the planet you want to set as a base... setting something as a base allows you to find it in... 2: Bases: when clicked a list of bases (max 100) will appear! unlike a home planet, you cannot warp to them for free. ALSO: Settlement: A species of your choice will move into your buildings, but the buildings will have to be approved by you! You may get chefs, wizards, merchants and Farmers depending on your buildings! Prison: Some Settlers might go rogue, or you might be attacked. you can choose to kill them (this may cause some settlers to leave in fear) or prison them (costs more food and space) Attack: Bases are bases... they can be attacked! only if you wage war with a species. War: The species you wage war on will attack you and will not move in except for a few rogues. Farmer: Will take up a lot of approved for farming dirt space, will provide food for the city. You can do these with your home planet too, btw. Open to suggestions, thank you for reading.
That's a good idea and maybe you can specialize bases so that when and if the ability to capture people comes you can set up your own prison,or a breeding area for your pets or maybe class specific base types like research facilities for the apex ,space hotels for humans or even greenhouses for the floran.
