Disclaimer:I'm a new player and don't spent much time reading wiki's ,so maybe their is a more effective way to heal already in game Well this game may be a huge tedious time sink, it never feels like it except when bandaging(Well, and when mining horizontally) Allow me to explain:. !)When do you Mainly bandage? After combat and after a fall which means you're just sitting there spamming them till your at full health. 2) They're also easily gathered ,altho I believe that's intended due the casual nature of this game so I'd rather leave that how it is. My suggestion is to either make bandages heal more but only allow them outside of combat or allow us to turn bandages into a first aid kit which heals 100% but only usable outside of combat
firstly they heal over time so to go from no health to full health you should eat about 3 of them and yes i said eat not apply or use eat
Later on in the game, they become somewhat inferior. I have to use close to 20 to regain my full health. Hope there's some beefier version of them coming out soon At least they taste good
I think bandages don't need to be better per se, just have more hi-tech options for higher levels. so... stims and funny little sticks that make beeping noises and what-not.. you know, flashy sci-fi stuff ^.^
Bandages actually seem really powerful, compared to how easily they're amassed. I've been trying out some different methods on how to start the game, and my two main priorities at the start (after basic wood gathering) is finding plant matter for the bow and then making an axe in the purpose of amassing more plant materials to start making the bandages. With bandages no combat is really that hard, as AI patterns are somewhat predictable and every attack that isn't dodged is quickly healed by the bandages. I'd suggest that bandages ought to heal less whilst being used in combat (I'd still like to maintain the option to use them), and accumulatively have an increased effect the longer the player has been out of combat. This would possibly reduce downtime without imbalancing early game play.
While that might be the case in the beginning of the game, it's definitely not the case in the real later end of the game. Can be easily fixed with implementing more powerful bandages or crafted stimpacks etc.. sure.. But in the endgame, they don't heal for anything almost. you're lucky to get 1 bar back from a bandage. you need to spend somewhere around 15-20 bandages to fully heal. If you wonder why, it's because of the +HP buff you get on you armor chestpieces get ridiculous in the end.
Bandages are simply the lowest of healing methods, let me help you out. Bandages - 3 or so bars of health over a few seconds Stimpacks - regenerates all your health and a can even more if your in a fight Med kits - emergency restore everything kit all of those things you have to buy or find so heres the solution: HAMBURGERS hamburgers restore alot of hunger and regenerate basically 2 lives of health so they are great in battle. To get them find some wheat seeds and plant them, once you get bread use the hunting weapons to get some raw meat. Make a kitchen tool from crafting table and wala, you can make the best thing for you thats most obtainable. Consider starting a wheat farm since you'll keep getting more wheat seeds and hunt now and then. Does me wonders.
Did you read my post on endgame armors and their +HP bonuses? Kind of throws the whole thing out the window sadly. though burgers and stims are the best endgame foods. and medkits don't even work.
