    Regarding fuel:

    Coal 2
    Uranium 4
    Plutonium 6
    Solarium 8

I'd suggest a new progression of fuels:
    Thorium 2
    Plutonium 4
    Uranium 6
    Solarium 8

Nuclear fuels each take two ore to make a rod, but the rod provides the same amount of fuel as the ore, so to do so is to take a 50% loss. But even if it were fixed to be linear, why would we want to? Refined fuels should either produce better-than-linear energy or be far more reducible (8:1 or 10:1). If space is the only thing saved (time is spent, and time is more valuable than space), I would like to see higher progression with different fuels (like Thorium at 4:1, Plutonium at 6:1, Uranium at 8:1, Solarium at 10:1).

Otherwise, I would like to see higher yields for refining higher level fuels, such than Thorium being 2 fuel, with two Thorium being 4, refine into a vial of Thorium Fluoride that yields 5 fuel...
Plutonium would yield 4 fuel, two being 8, with it refining down to Plutonium Pellets worth 10
Uranium 6, two being 12, so Plutonium Rod worth 15
Solarium 8, two being 16, so Solarium Crystal worth 20, though maybe some special containment would be necessary because we all know how unstable Solarium Crystals are...

Also, the ships fuel reserve could be deeper. Like, by an order of magnitude. Or we could hire someone to keep shoveling pellets into the door.

Coal could be kept around as a carbonizer for lower-level alloys, but it should be refined into coke before it is useful as a fuel.
And diamonds or diamond ore could be the carbonizer for higher-level alloys

Diamonds produce twice as many pixels in the refinery as its ore, but it should produce four times as many since it takes four to make a diamond. Either that or refined diamonds should have more and better uses than just making the drill and pickaxe.

    Just some thoughts :)

You should of posted this under the "Suggestions" section

Thorium is a radioactive element. It's very common on earth (as common as lead) and there's enough to power our civilization for 1000 years at current levels. It's our next big step in nuclear power. Trees don't smelt into thorium, but they don't smelt into coal either :)
The idea would be to make thorium the entry-level nuclear fuel for powering ships.

I didn't know there was a "suggestions" section. I will move it there. I clicked "leave feedback" on the launcher and it took me here :/

I agree with this post none-the-less.

Coal should not power a spaceship, it's the reason I love the biofueled mod, it allows a new player a logical way to fuel their ship. Leave the coal powering spaceships shit in the easy mode, with logical options in the harder modes.

Trees don't "smelt" into coal, but heating them at high temperatures with proper conditions (i.e. a very oxygen poor environment) does produce charcoal.

    I agree with you.

Unfortunately, they are directly copying the "difficulty levels/modes" from Terraria, instead of coming with a real difficulty system (see last tweet) :\

I really hope they'll think again about that in the future.
