Apex characters are recent defectors to rebels of an oppressive 1984 style autocracy Avian characters are heretics fleeing a powerful theocracy whose beliefs they rejected. Floran characters have separated from the Floran collective looking to interact with other races Hylotl are Pacifish who recently fled their Floran ravaged homeworld and seek to spread their ideals of peace. Glitch character broke from the limitations of the experiment and achieved self-awareness, but is considered insane and an outcast.
