The EPP pack is great, but there's one big flaw. It takes up the back slot to be used. The three back lights (latern, halogen and xenon lights) are fantastic and extremely helpful, I love them for when I go mining. Only issue is they give off no light when in the vanity back slot, and unless you're on a low threat level planet you -NEED- the EPP in your back slot or you simply won't survive. Because of that, the halogen and xenon packs are a waste, since by the time you can make them you'll be spending most of your time on planets where the EPP is required. My suggestion is to make it so that the back lights -DO- shine light (and full brightness, no lowered brightness nonsense) in the vanity slot, so that they're still useful past your first three planets, and making the halogen/xenon light isn't a waste of resources.
