Avians suddenly mainstream?

I originally wanted to be an Avian because they seemed like the overlooked race. Nobody wanted to be an Avian, so I figured Avian was a good race to be. But has anybody else noticed how Avians are kinda trending now? It makes me want to consider my race choice to an underdog race.

 

I'd say that all of the races are pretty close in popularity. Just play what you like. :d

 

Considering they are the only ones with released lore, and they are also visually interesting, as well as being a part of the furry fandom, Avians are a major race, and will probably be used a lot.

No, from the let's plays I've seen most if not all have been Avians. The large LPers are promoting Avians, so I might just switch.

 

I imagine we'll all get around to playing all the races. Sure once the back-story is in thought it'll show who likes what race better. I for one am going Glitch for the first time, then after that who knows, but I intend to try em all.

 

I will play a human and I will raise an army of Avians.
Nothing will beat my super American human and his army of eagle people!

Also I thought Floran was gonna be the mainstream race because "Lol eat people."

 

To be honest, who really cares? Play what you wanna play. Or you can be a tool and not play anything as other people like it. It doesn't affect me.

 

I felt the same way about the Glitch, now everyone wants to be one.

It's like when you buy a car you don't ever see much, but once you get it you see them everywhere. It's always been there, but you didn't notice till now.

I really don't care though, I know I'm the best "toots his own horn." Just kidding .

 

I'll probably play as every race anyway, doesn't matter a whole lot. It just kinda disappoints me a little bit is all.

Nah, I'm just kidding. All of the races are probably about the same in popularity, it's just hard to notice.
If that's not correct, then it's probably because Avians are the only ones with an official lore.

If you are going to play the game play it the way you want too, stop worrying about others.

Some people like being unique or like to avoid trends, the mere fact that you're playing an uncommonly seen race gives people enjoyment, it's just a different outlook on things. Sort of like how everyone played a Night Elf in WoW, so a lot of people avoided playing as a Night Elf purely for that one reason.

 

I just like to feel special. If everybody else is being an Avian, it means my experience may not be that different from the majority of others. Others will start with Avian recipes and therefore begin with Avian gameplay. I realize Starbound is pretty much 100% randomly generated to make every experience unique, I just want mine unique as possible.

 

You do realize there are hundreds of thousands of other people going to play the game and that in no way you'll be able to have a singular unique experience even by selecting a race that 'seemed' overlooked correct? There are certainly going to be more people playing the game then there ever will be people talking about their experiences. You'll be fine.
