you explained it soooooooooooooo much better than me. i dont think i can add enough O's to it to put more emphasis :p

I will admit that my point wasn't the greatest, but i still don't think it was right to blockade the planet like that.
Also, i didnt mean they get eaten THAT way. I meant they dont all team up and commit genocide on the lions.

    Pentarctagon Over 9000!!!

I think a lot of these comparisons are irrelevant. You can't really compare two non-sentient lifeforms' interactions, then draw moral/ethical reasoning from that and apply it to entire spacefaring civilizations.

One thing I took from this:

The Glitch are not stuck with medieval tech. We can now put that issue aside.

Their description did say that some of them were "Glitched" to be more advanced/intelligent and were able to take to the stars.

    Point taken.

I'll wait for Glitch lore for the definitive answer, then.

Florans do remind me of either Zergs or Tyranids.
...And Necromorphs. Imagine undead flesh-hungering already flesh-hungering hyper-aggressive species that hungers for your flesh.

No, it probably was't right. But look at the bright side, I'm sure the herbicide and defoliant industries are getting more business than ever before!

Loved reading the Lore document; suddenly so many things made sense! I was wondering why Avian temples had star charts and computers in them, and now we know. I'm excited about the abandoned ships at anchor around planets, too. Looks like a lot of fascinating stuff ahead, can't wait to get to read about the other races! :geek:

This lore is great, and I think it's awesome the Glitch and Avians share a bit of a history, with the Glitch being the first other race for the Avians to encounter.

Now I'm even more excited for this game, hngh

All of the races will share history - not specifically with every other race, but they'll all have interactions with others.

After reading the lore, I've come to the conclusion that I can't really play a revolutionary seeking to dissolve the concept of religion. So no anti-Kluex guerrillaing for me. Pest control makes MUCH more sense.

Changing the subject here, it seems that the true name of the Glitch/their creators has been revealed. That, or i read it wrong.
    Extraavosians. sounds fancy.

That's just the Avian version of the word "extraterrestrial" but instead of Terra they have Avos. :geek:

    Avians kinda seem like Jerks.

Blockading the Florans and avoiding contact when they could have tried to uplift them in a manner that removed those carnivorous tendencies. Heck, they even had the Glitch there, I doubt Florans would try and eat one of them.

Instead they’ve made them angry and now that they've escaped, they seem destined to be enemies.

The only question I have is are the Florians really pests? Did they attack the Glitch out of self-defense or out of fear/ignorance/anger? If the Avians had tired to open a dialogue with the Florians would they have been successful or would they wind up plant food? I'm just kinda unclear about the motivation of the Florians and I would *like* to image they are a decent species with other aspirations then consume-spread-consume. Guess we won't know for sure until some lore about them comes out. :metroid:

The majority of Florans do not have a concept of non-plant life. Kind of how you don't really consider all the ants you crush beneath your feet when you walk.

Umm. The Avian's couldn't get close enough to them to actually TEACH them manners. Since you know, Florans would eat them. I wonder if Avians taste like chicken... As for the Glitch, I don't think they'd care since there wouldn't be as much as a threat to them. So really the Avians were just doing what they thought was right, rather then let the Florans colonize planets and eat everything on them, then move to the next. If it didn't happen when it happened, then they would have spread and ended up consuming most of the universe after a few years.

The reasons Avians blockaded the Florans was because the Florans primary goal was to spread and consume, like a virus. Plus, we don't know much about the Floran history either so later on they might end up a bit more civilized and on better terms with Avians.
