Avian Intro (WIP)

Apparently the title states that this intro is heavily in progress. I suppose this is because the avian homeworld isn't in the process of being destroyed by an all-consuming tentacle beast. I hope they'll add that later.

 

How on earth did you find this so suddenly? I honestly liked the human intro immensely more, but this is pretty cool as well. Though I do struggle to fully understand it. Hopefully it's improved a little more later on, but I do realize it's still a work in progress!

 

I'd like the Avians to have a different world problem other than the tentacle world monster. Only because it'd be fun to find out the reasons behind each race's home destruction instead of just grouping them all together under one common problem.

 

Apparently the Avian girl was sacrificed by random shifts of feathers. Avian got mad, and left the homeworld due to unfair sacrifices. It could use a littler more action, but that's just me.

Technically their homeworld isn't destroyed. Not yet anyways. I sure hope I can do the honors one of these days, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon.

 

This one is pretty good in my eyes.. i like the story of how they start breaking free from their religious views and controlling society its very interesting to me and makes me want to play as an avian can't wait to see the others!

 

At this rate, the rest of the intros will be done by the end of next month. At which time major bugs will be fixed and so forth.

Which begs the question, is soon much closer than any of us suspects?

 

Actually, according to the June 23rd update that just came out, Tiy said that this will be the last intro he'd show us.

Could be. Though I don't know what else that they need to accomplish to give us a working beta, so maybe it'll be release tomorrow, or maybe a beta will ocme out on december the 31st, or maybe they'll push the beta to sometime in 2014.

 

I feel like some of the cutscenes could use some spit and shine.

 

There might be a teeny tiny chance that Tiy may stop releasing more intros as stated in his June 23rd update.

Eh. It could use more drama, but I won't rage quit because of it.

 

Of course not, I just find that some parts could be tweaked or shined up a little bit more, thats all.

 

Oh yes, and the whole thing could be slightly longer just so we'd know more about their world, but I think Chucklefish wants to rush the intros so that they can have more time to work on the other, more important stuff.

I agree. In less than a minute, we were given part of the avian's most important culture, their rather disregard for lives under certain circumstances, a rebellion, and free-thinking individuals traveling through the stars in search for a new home. It's pretty neat.

 

Ok i've seen the intro twice do not see nor hear anything about Avians being attacked by Tentacles, so I think all the races will have their own problem(s) and reason(s) for leaving their home worlds

Oh and Spike I think you've mixed up two of your responses and their quotes.

Now for the Avian Intro itself. Wow I really like it, and it fits their lore very well. I look forward to a full complete version of this and the Humans, and I can't wait to see the other races as well. Tiy, I really hope you do not show the rest, if you do I will of course still watch them, but I prefer to leave some for the beta/full game.

Though I think Tiy is somewhat done with the lore aspect of the intro. According to him:

Here’s a super heavily work in progress Avian intro, we’ve been working on adding additional sound effects to it today (though they’re not in this video).

All that's left is the sound effects for the intro. But I think the lore is good enough as it is, since we can always find more about their cultures in-game.

 

I love the avian intro, and with each daily update the more i want to play this game!

 

I liked it. Seems to fit their lore. Hope to watch it again tonight with the sound on. Can't really add anything to what has already been said.

Maybe but I say we continue to expect soon is much later so if it arrives that close it will be like an unexpected gift.

 

I think you've miss read that phrase, of course, that does not mean it is not done, but I thought it actually felt shorter though, so who knows other then the devs.
