Avian Cloning Animation (from Rho)

I'd have to say it's on the same level as Legend of Zelda. Plenty of serious stuff, like the bosses and chosen god-hero, but there's less serious things, like the townsfolk and strange monsters.

 

Or maybe someone could make a mod animation of a shaved bear wearing a pink speedo and dancing the can-can while you respawn, maybe that satisfies them.

Don't know about other people, but I kind of like the respawning animations.
Short, sweet, and simple, and it reflects the styles and characteristics of each race.

Besides, It's just a respawning animation for god's sake. It does not affect gameplay in any way, I don't see why so many people despise it....

 

Two words.

I really like that the different playable races have different respawn animations at all. That alone impresses me.

 

I just had a thought...what would happen if you ate that egg?

 

Well... If you manage to eat it without chewing on it... It would result in an avian wearing a humansuit. Not a very pleasant view.

Actually his posts should be considered as trolling, since they are pointless and he only seems to want to wreak havoc in the forum and get some attention. I don't see anyone sharing his own opinion, he should know that already and stop all this nonsense

I hope this guy could do the same and stop it already: we get the message, he only likes serious stuff and he's in the wrong place. Funny thing that he, by himself, doesn't get the same message we already got.

Strange the way a little chicken turns into full grown humanoid... maybe chemical therapy with hormones and stimuli...

 

What I really want to see is whatever gizmo this transformation (presumably) takes place within. Is it going to be a tank like the humans use or will it be separate for all the races? Would be neat to have a "respawn" room in your space station full of all the different respawn machines.

Oh gosh, what if you have to get blueprints to build respawn machines first, in case you want to put one somewhere (like your homeworld) instead of using the default one, wherever it is. :catface2:

I admit at first i was put of by the Avian animation as well, probably because it was so different from the human one. But then i realized that neither is very realistic and once i got that, authenticity or anything else didn't really matter to me. Now the only reason i would object would be if there were some functional problems but i can't see any at this point.

 

I quite like the Avian respawn animation. I imagine it would take place inside a special chamber, or that the chute the egg comes from would be connected to some kind of complicated machine. I am starting to wonder what the Floran respawn animation would look like. Since they reverse-engineered their technology, perhaps it takes place in some kind of half machine, half plant cloning pod?

 

I understand, you guys must be communists who don't believe in freedom of opinion and speech. Am I not allowed to dislike an animation?

I simply cannot stand the sillyness that the devs are adding to the game in the form of speedos and chicks turning into Avians. Tell me I have a bad sense of humor, I do not care. I take my gaming seriously, and I really think the devs should take us serious gamers into mind.

I mean, of course they can add a few clever jokes! Plenty of games do so, and I like that. But when they take something as IMPORTANT AS RESPAWNING, and turn it into a joke... Now that takes it a bit too far for me personally.

Also they are just adding silly jokes so far. I LOVE CLEVER JOKES. I know, it is hard to make clever jokes, but silly jokes just annoy me. Most silly jokes are for children. I would love them to have funny things in descriptions and maybe a few awesome storyline jokes and references, but taking an important part of the game and making it a SILLY joke just makes the feel of the game into excactly that, a silly joke.

Think of it this way: Clever jokes make me think the devs are clever, and designed a clever game. Silly jokes make me think the devs are silly, and designed a silly game. I would much rather play a clever game than a silly game.

Please understand what I am trying to say instead of bashing me for being a non-worshipper of the all-mighty Starbound developers. Take into account what I am trying to say, and don't base it all entirely on me being against something, but think about why I am against it.
