Avian Cloning Animation (from Rho)

I'd like to see the Hylotl animation start with a tadpole in a puddle.Or maybe a fish with legs:alien:

 

Cute, I'm really surprised that there will be separate respawns animations too. It's just so...unexpectedly not lazy compared to what I've come to expect from modern games.

 

I wonder if Hylotls will be age boosted from something like that.

 

But that's probably natural to happen in Starbound.

 

I think the avian cloning animation is heartmeltingly adorable. I'm fighting an overheating system just looking at it.

From a gameplay standpoint, though, I would recommend being able to skip the "chick hopping around" part of the animation by pressing any movement or action key. Due to the length of the animation, it might be a bit frustrating for someone to sit through if they're already upset from repeated failure and want try again as quickly as possible.

Though, thinking about it a bit further, that's the point where they should consider stepping away from the game to cool off. Not everyone's going to be that levelheaded though.

 

Ya know, I considered saying something about the length of the animation in my post too. However, in the end I decided that a little bit of a lengthy animation may not be such a bad thing. It looks good regardless, and having a bit of a "timer" to wait through after dying can also serve as a minor deterrent to reckless play. If you're playing in an area suitable to your abilities and equipment, I'm thinking you shouldn't be seeing this animation very often anyway.

If you are seeing it a lot, and get to the point where you're frustrated by the length of the animation, then it may be a good idea to re-evaluate your ability to survive on the current planet.

 

Not really relevant, but that's still cool.

 

I can only imagine what it feels to grow up from a baby to adult in 3 seconds

I must have missed that one. If that's a real screenshot, it seems to indicate that we can import pictures of our own for wall paintings.

Maybe the Florans will grow from a shoot, and break off like a fruit.
And the Hylotls could grow from Tadlotls, into Hylotlets, into Hylotls.

 

Why does everyone assume that the other races will start out in their smaller forms?
I mean, the humans didn't. We may be seeing some other forms of cloning here.
