Avian Cloning Animation (from Rho)

I can imagine the weird things ya'll can do with switching race cloning animations

 

That would create a massive congregation of "WTF!?"s

 

The best course of action is to have Eddie Murphy hatch from the egg.

 

That's hot.

Looks great, funny and cute. However, we're lacking context: where does the egg come from? In the human cloning animation, we see that there's a machine re-creating the character bit by bit, but here we have an egg that's "just there". Will there be a conveyor belt full of eggs waiting in line for their turn? Will the egg be created in a manner similar to the human clone? Will a mechanic pincer lower it from a ceiling hole?

 

Reminds me of pokemon...

"...Huh? Your egg seems to be hatching. *hatching animation* Would you lik- *starts to evolve* Uhhh I think you're pokemon is evolving already ._."

 

No one knows yet (except the Dev Team?), but hey, Avians seem to be pretty mystical, maybe they just experience some kind of reincarnation regarding their beliefs, who knows?

My guess is that it dropped out of some kind of 'dropper machine' (Bad explaining ) and it will then hatch on the ground.

 

That is the most hilarious thing. Ever.

I'm a bit torn about this one. While it's a nice animation, it doesn't really feel right to me as a cloning process. How exactly does the chick grow to full size almost instantly? We discussed this sort of process as an alternate to the body construction technique of the humans for people who didn't like that animation and it didn't feel right to me then, and it still doesn't. Maybe if there was some context as to where the egg came from and what's causing it to grow so fast?

 

I'm guessing that the animation happens inside some sort of transparent high-tech chamber.

Either way I think it looks funny and quite fitting.
I can't wait to see Florans grow from a seed, or robots come from a construction line!

Not to mention whatever it is that Apex and the fish people do.

 

I'm really excited to know that the team has put forth such extra effort into these respawning animations (To think that they even have ONE is awesome to begin with), and making each race unique. The cloning tube for the humans would have been more than enough for all of the races, but this really shows how dedicated they are to infuse as much personality into the races as possible. I love it

I really like it, and am pleasantly surprised that each race apparently has its own respective animation. Also, though I don't completely understand the dynamics of what's supposed to be happening here to hatch and grow the character so fast, I honestly don't care that much. To me, it isn't that important for there to be a solid scientific basis behind absolutely everything in the game. At certain points, it's a good idea I think to let the "realism" slide a bit in favor of good gameplay or even just a neat graphical effect.

That said, I know that having everything in this game bounded in science *is* important to some folks, so it'll be interesting to see if each if these animations eventually get paired with an explanation.
