RELEASED Avali (Triage) 1.11.0

Nightly might have changed something about how armor is 'supposed' to be tagged to be available for these missions. I'd look into it, but I don't have Nightly installed, nor am I awake enough to trust my fingers to type the right things.

Avali merchants, They can be spawned by the tenants.

The new update to starbound made tenants that you can buy to make civilizations. They're the new version of the old spawners. You can purchase them from the frog at the outpost.

 

Aaaaand it changed mechanism of shields. Last version ov Avali crashed by crafting recipe of shield (i delete them, bcs i don't use them) and game i work. For armor, i just use admin menu to proceed for quests (just craft other race armor set, got quest goal and trash that set(Avali set is much better) ).
So, i'll wait for your new version of mod for Nightly version or for new stable version,that will come soon.

 

Is it just me, or are the weapons poorly balanced? My starting sword has a DPS of 42, far higher than my steel sword. Not sure yet if the starting sword also outdoes the T3 sword or not.

 

This is very strange considering that the weapons damage, speed, and level are all copied from human weapons. Except that the Avali starting sword's level is 0.5 instead of 1 like the human starting sword. I'll boost the level to 1, but that should increase the weapons effectiveness.
Edit: Testing the starting sword right now. Also if you are using Nightly we haven't patched weapons and other items to match it yet.
Edit Edit: Starting sword does not out power the current stable version of the tier1-3 Avali broadswords.

 

Might be the Nightly build. I'll downgrade to stable and try again. Thanks for the reply.

So I got bored and made a Trello. Anyone is able to add comments anywhere, so long as you have an account, but at the moment I'm the only one capable of actually moving cards around or creating them. In the future, I'd like the team to be able to do this as well.

You know, since the colonization update, I've had some... interesting interactions with my Avali tenants...



Take this guy. Ran up to me with this big grin on his face and hopped up and down like he was happy to see me. Then, wearing that same grin, he said that. Then he followed me around the building and would not leave me alone, even when I squirted him with a squirt-gun. Maybe he really wants to be friends, but doesn't want to admit it.

And then there are the guards which mutter about how I have "gonads coming here" to the city I built for them, and could easily evict them from.

And then there's that one time where an Avali civilian and an armored human guard spent several minutes emoting hearts at each other.

Is this a problem? Not really. But I thought it was worth sharing.

 

Not realy, any NPC now can do this and follow you since he attacked or lost interest ion you.

 

Well, yes, I understand the underlying mechanic. The game doesn't care who I'm talking to or even really know who I'm talking to, it's just a programmed behavior. What makes it notable is the way it interacts with the antagonistic relationship Avali have with humans.

I shared this mostly because I found it amusing. It's not a huge problem, maybe not really a problem at all, but because it's an unforeseen interaction I think the mod makers should be made aware of it so they can decide what (if anything) they want to do about it. Maybe they'll embrace the "hot and cold" relationship between a human landlord and his Avali tenants, or maybe it doesn't fit with their vision. I'm okay with it either way... though I could do without the "you have gonads coming here" bit in cities I build.

 

Does this mod still work? And will it work on the next update?

 

It was updated to Pleased Giraffe, and has not yet been updated to Gald Giraffe.

 

So I just found a Miru Pod when exploring a Avali installation, and tried to plant it, but it didn't seem to grow at all. Unless it's growth cycles are longer than it takes for Mushroom to grow, not sure what is up there :S

 

Did you plant in on wet tilled soil?

 

Using the Hydrophonics Tray from Frakin' Flora, so yes. That's not had issues with any other water-needing plant.

 

Can you grow either of the other two Avali plants?
