RELEASED Avali (Triage) 1.11.0

I can't seem to get crops to grow on the tubes. Is there a trick to it? Does it work with all crops? I tried watering from all side of the block and can't get anything to grow.

 

So how exactly do I use aeroponic tubes to farm? Havent been able to figure it out...

Found a Avali mining site, It is amazing !!!
Too bad there is no avali settlement on the same planet or it will be a perfect spot for home planet.
Maybe link the locations with teleporters..... hmmm......

 

I've noticed that dying seems not to be working for weapons anymore. It still works for things like the tent canopies and furniture, but whenever I try to dye a spear or any other melee weapon I get a copy of the weapon back in its original color.

Dye mod hasn't been updated, I wouldn't be surprised if it was broken

 

honestly not sure if this is a bug or my game being weird, but i don't seem to ever get the recipe for the hoe? i've had to spawn it in twice now. spawning it seems to unlock the crafting recipe.
anyone else having this issue or should i go verify my files with steam or something?

 

I found an avali settlement with merchants, and both merchants were selling racial ranged weapons for 0 pixels. I only saw the Frostbite and Firelance (but can't remember what tier), but items with 0 cost can't be bought. Also, one of the merchants was selling a Perfectly Generic Item, also for 0 pixels.

Also, I found a floran merchant on a nearby planet, one of the ones by itself in the wilderness with a haycart you can sleep in, who wasn't interested in letting me buy things. It acted like it was happy to see me, just kept repeating "thank you for coming!" or something, but passive-aggressively refused to let me see its stuff. Stupid racist flower people..

I've only found a couple other merchants since the update, but the ones in settlements were working normally. That is the only merchant of its kind I've found, so I don't know if it's a problem with the type or a random one-off glitch.

 

The aeroponic tubes behave pretty much like dirt in that they can be tilled and have plants grown on them. It's just a higher-tech version to match the Avali's stage of advancement, and it also makes more sense if you happen to place your farm on your ship.

 

Unlike dirt, however, as soon as you till it, it becomes 'wet' and I have it set up so that when it comes time for it to dry, it 'dries' into the same state it already was.
No need to water aeroponics tubes, ever, unlike dirt. I probably could set it up so that it dries out, but eh, it's supposed to be used in outer space where there isn't going to be much water.

 

Oh, sweet, I didn't know that! Aeroponic tubes 4 lyfe, then.

As an aside, I'm working on a little Extended GUI-esque addon for the Avali crafting stations so that they're nice and big. I might even tweak them a little further than that, too... just gotta see if I can make the Avali Emblem in a big enough size

Tadaaah! I'm not really that happy with the smaller Avali emblem, but it'll do for now. I just need to make config patch files to change the other two crafting stations over to the new interface and then it'll be all done

Just wanted to let everyone know that I uploaded my UI mod to the site, so it's now available for download Get it here! (You will need the Extended GUI mod in order for mine to function properly.)

I use this one because I only have a couple of custom races installed.

While I can understand not having a significant number of race mods installed (I only have two at the moment), I don't see why that precludes installing SolaerSelect. In my opinion, the many slots is just a side-effect of having a redesigned and beautiful-looking character creation interface!

 

Found my way into an apparently dead Avali thread with the same question; so to save time I'll copy & paste my previous question.
