RELEASED Avali (Triage) 1.11.0

Just thought I'd share something that made me happy.

I was able to type in "Starbound av" into Google and one of the first 5 suggestions was "Starbound Avali Triage".
I dunno, this lifted my spirits a bit. It tells me enough people care that Google noticed.

 

It is nice when google recognizes things. I kept losing track of a thread I created on another forums and was able to find it on google by searching the first two words in the title, not even the website name which was quite pleasing.

Especially since those other forums don't have working thread subscription system. '

Would it be possible for you to work with Mr.Chow on making a Avali Triage or a version of it compatible with CLeF? Largely, I think it's a matter of editing the ship files for the either the FTL location or the Fuel Hatch (can't remember which), but there could be other changes that would need to be done. I love the Avali, but sadly I find I can't play without CLeF due to some of the current changes of vanilla with the Giraffe update.

 

The simplest fix for such an incompatibility is to not use "ChokeLeFish". The name alone is an insult to Chucklefish - the mod itself is a slap in the face, made for people who can't get over that the game is developing away from the Enraged Koala version and has been doing so for almost a year now. Get over it.

 

Definitely recall hearing earlier that this mod will not be adapted to work with that

I feel spoiled in light of all the good updates. This race mod is just so...comprehensive.

 

Oh? I hadn't checked in on it in a while, and it wasn't listed on CLeF's page as a compatible/reccomended mod. Sorry, and thank you!

EDIT: Hmmm.....I'm not seeing said patch? I'd assume it's under the collapsible box titled "Addons", but I only see a patch for Dye Mod.

Or, you know, another solution is to respect the fact that not everyone has the same opinion, and the fact that it was made and many people use it means not everyone agrees with Chucklefish's decision. Yes, the name could have been chosen better, but that doesn't change the above.

 

The mod name was chosen specifically because the modder hates the decisions Chucklefish has made. It's almost to the level of hatred for the developers of the game itself, given how MrChow has acted towards them before.

And the content of the mod? Rather subpar. Reimplenting bosses that Chucklefish is adding in more polished forms later? Old removed armors made of soft metals like Silver and Gold? Emeralds added to the game, continuing the idea that soft metals and brittle gemstones are somehow suitable mining tools? There isn't many interesting features in that mod aside from attempting to hold onto nostalgia for under-developed, and removed, features of the vanilla game.

If you have any modicum of respect for Chucklefish, I'd suggest not using ChokeLeFish.

 

Personally, I'd say you have little respect for other's having a choice. I'm using a mod I like to use, and if CLeF is an insult to Chucklefish, they've taken it pretty well considering other, bigger companies go on banning powertrips over simply telling them their game isn't perfect or having two of the same numbers in a row in your username (Gaijin's Warthunder). I have at least some respect for Chuckefish for that reason alone, and quite frankly, I don't feel like a spitting contest that can get me banned or suspended right now.

 

Believe me, CLeF is the only mod which I cannot respect, for the reasons I've mentioned and many more. Chucklefish has been very lenient, and I can appreciate that, but I think anyone who is having a nostalgia trip bad enough to install a mod like CLeF should really take a step back and stop pretending that the older versions of the game had better features than the current version.

Both of you need to dial it down a bit. Disagreeing is fine, but you need to be respectful of others and their opinions (both of you).

 

Alright, working on several new objects and items. I plan on completing a set of dark metal pick axes and drill tiers. I am also going to be working on several new lights. I would love some more ideas.
