you must not be running any mod that adds stars to the universe, except FU
if you are on a mac and not running any mod (not even FU) you can find an avali settlement here

Well I found it, so it does work. However this seems like a small outpost ;p and I don't see any NPCs... Have you found any Avali towns? I remember what the towns looked like when the modder still cared about the game...

 

Most likely poor question, but is this multiplayer compatible? A friend and I are working on a Hamachi server and are getting some issues with starting up with this installed

 

Everyone needs the mod installed. As does the server.

 

First of all, thank you for continuing work on the fluffy raptors! one of the reasons I wasn't updating Starbound was because I enjoyed playing them so much.

I've noticed that the Avali Mining Lazer doesnt seem to . . . mine? It breaks blocks but I'm only collecting the block and none of the resources in the block (iron, copper, gold, etc)

 

There's no harvestlevel or even blockdamage in the file. I've fixed those, will be coming out on Friday. If you're impatient, replace your avalilaser.miningtool with this one (And tell me if it works, too, cause I can't really test right now.)

 

Bug report time! Not sure if it's the vanilla mod or the augments and assortments, but when trying to place the Auto-Doc Chamber, when contacting the ground (at least in the ship) it will not appear. Placing it will remove it from the inventory but it pops out of existence, at which point anything you can interact with on the ship stops functioning and upon beaming away or closing the game it gets a runtime error.
I've tested this twice in the back segment of the Sparrow (first size upgrade) ship.

 

Can you start the game, reproduce the error (And the crash) then upload your starbound.log file?

 

Auto doc chamber? Seems like the AnA mod. [and that future chrono trigger thing, actually]

well that's weird (i did the laser), i've noticed that i diamonds cannot be harvested with it, but i can mine any other ore normally, i've just created a new character and i've been using it

 

can you try make laserminer like drill ? would be better

 

Obviously since I found the camp (It was a small outpost with a mineshaft going down underground) that means the mod works. I just wonder if I'll find any towns...

 

I noticed that there is some data for mines and all, but i didn't see any mine yet.

 

Overall it feels like villages and what not are rarer in the Giraffe versions compared to the old days.

 

Avali camps and mines both have the same spawn rates and conditions (Planets)

 

I meant in general, not Avali specifically.

 

I can agree with this sentiment. Not just in mods but in vanilla Starbound, too. Ever since the giraffe versions have released I've had a much harder time finding settlements of any kind at all.

 

Which makes sense, in some regard. But it does make it harder to find them.
