You may still have a status effect active.

 

All players need to make sure they no longer have FU installed, and they need to make sure they have NOTHING in their inventories that came from FU and even then... if any of them learned any of the FU techs, that could potentially cause errors too.

When you uninstall a mod like FU.... you're askin' for a character wipe.

That or you know, just reinstall FU.

 

If they learned the techs they can just unlearn them and remove the items.

Like for every major update, every race mod needs to be updated to maintain compatibility. Avali Triage is no exception, and it was last updated for Glad Giraffe only. You are more than welcome to fix it on your end and share the updated version, however.

 

im already going though what feels like a masochistic process of helping a friend with a dont starve and a counterpart version of the mod for dont starve together, along with adding a new feature or two for a prevision mod he did so the mod is more balanced for the new expansion. sure i would love to maintain a mod for a game i've never even looked at the coding for xD

 

90% of Starbound modding is json and image editing, and the last 10% is more in-depth content like lua scripts and creating dungeons through the program Tiled. However, since you are busy with your own endeavors and the 1.0 update is essentially right around the corner, you could wait for someone else to do it and update the mod officially.

 

Usable items are all being converted to use lua.

 

Okay. So? Unless you are making activeitems with entirely custom lua scripts, you do not need to know a lick of lua to make an activeitem. The activeitem format itself is entirely json and you can make new swords, etc. without changing the lua.

 

But writing new projectile behavior and alt abilities is so much fun!

Currently wanting to make a grapple hook with newtonian physics, and a grenade that places sentries, or combat chems status effects, or or or or...

Instead of having a grenade place a sentry can't you just make an item that directly places a sentry? Y'know, precision.
Talking of sentries, that'd probably be really cool so we can have defenses worth a damn instead of the vanilla turrets who will not fire at these clearly non-hostile passive mobs until you're already drowning in a pool of your own blood.

 

That and actual Attack drones like in the lore. And not just something that's like a pet of sorts either. Ones that roam settlements and camps and fire upon hostile creatures when they attack.

 

Yeah that's mostly what I had in mind.

It will not be compatible outright. However, the team will, in all likelihood, begin work on a version that is.

 

It's gonna be a bit for all the big mods to be compatible with 1.0, not just Avali, and a lot of that time's probably gonna be spent just fixing the mods that 1.0 is gonna break hard.

 

Except for Frackin'Universe.

It's already semi-playable on Unstable, lol.
