Outdated Avali Race Mod 0.12.4

So... to reverse hijack the topic here:

If Avali tribes have specialties, would that mean that a tribe could be viewed as the Avali equivalent of a corporation? Would certain tribes be renowned for a high level of quality in their goods? Would tribes even produce different versions of the same items, or are designs standardized by the Oracle?

 

It's a good analogue, though they're not avian... "avalid", "avaloid" maybe? (akin to humanoid)

While the Oracle could no doubt put out superior plans (and probably does most the design work), aesthetic details and ergonomics isn't something you can quantisise so easily, so I expect there is some fine tuning of designs, so yes it seems reasonable to expect that different tribes would get a reputation for their qualities, which may make it more likely they'll receive certain types of contract in future.

And yes, a "tribe" has aspects of a specialised workforce in a business given it has it's specialised goals and purpose, internal infrastructure and hierachy etc. the only reason I use the phrase" tribe" at all is because that is the structure it evolved from, and has some tribal elements (internal culture, families, provisioning, utilities) which a corporation doesn't normally handle.

Got a cleaned up version of the Avali Glass tileset working. If people are interested I'll post it here or as a separate mod after I check with madtulip to see if it's fine to redistribute the tilesetter.lua.

Also, not sure if I'll post as a separate mod if Ryuujin is working on adding avali stuff to go with madtulip's mod, so I guess I'm asking him now if that's the case.
