Outdated Avali Race Mod 0.12.4

I pulled an all nighter, after being sleepless for long enough. And we'd be glad to have you... Whenever the server doesn't pull it's person limit shenanigans and suddenly disconnect everyone.

#1: Do you have the mod list? I'd like to see the mods but of course I'd ask Shadow first if I can tag along. He doesn't seem to take too kindly to my sense of humor.

#2: Would I have to reset my universe? I think I saw a snippet of the mod list before and saw the ship mod so I'd have to redo that wich is fine. If I have to reset the world I'll take one last picture of my project before it goes poof.

Also damn taking a screen of an in-game character and using it as an avatar doesn't really cut it, I'll have to solve that some other way.

 

I believe there's one around here somewhere, and while I have energy, my brain is having a hard time comprehending text because of my lack of sleep.

I didn't have to reset mine, but I only had the Avali, Catalina, and Reni's Armory before. Completely boring, but after a mishap with Minecraft I distrusted mods completely for a long time

Other than getting someone to draw your character, or drawing it yourself, there's not much you can do... Besides the extra mile of taking the screenshot, cutting out the fluffball and placing him/her onto a different background of your own choosing. IF you wanted to use your own Avali character, or Avali in general.

Been listening to the battle themes of the Team leaders throughout the pokemon games. Gotta say, Ghetsis's theme gives me the most villainous vibes.

 

Hey don't worry about that I don't have that many mods either.

And that's good news, maybe my base won't get blasted and people can actually visit it too.

I know it's a sin being a gamer and all but I havn't played any of the pokémon games. Don't worry though I'm not gonna' stand here and say "It's a kids game! It dun even haiv guunz." because I think it looks like a fun game it's just I never got around to it.

But hey, I played lots of other classics. Can't play them all!

 

It lies, they've ignored/cut out Giovanni's theme. And Colress was never a 'leader', just a scientist in it for science

And it's fine, I mostly play them for the challenge (I intentionally use weak pokemon, because I'm a masochist like that), and the music inside. The special themes are usually spectacular in some form.

 

I'm a little curious to what platform you're running on. These error logs are a different format to what I'm used to, I'm wondering if they're not related to the inventory slot bug that I've seen a few reports of
MacBook, you mentioned on the following page. Still, might be related to the object slot bug (Another bizarrely persistant bug that doesn't have any obvious cause)

The weirdest part is that 11.1 barely differs from 10.1 technically, other than the fact it has colour swap options for the objects.

I am not sure if implementing them into the vanilla game is good or bad, though.
Ryu listens to a lot, and I mean, a lot of feedback, but will Chucklefish do the same?

 

It'd also be Ryu's own choice in the end, since it is his creation.

Personally, I'd love to see Avali as a main part of the game, but there would always be many kinks to work through.

 

Also, Ryu you up for some possibly icky / tough moral/biological questions? More on that later.

So, let's begin with something lighthearted. I was just going to make a joke about if a human praises a female Avali for being cocky she'd slap him for calling her butch but I actually found a lot of terms that relate to genders of birds so my question is: Do Avali have words specific to males and females of their race like we do for ourselves and a lot of other species or would they just say male/female?

If you're curious here's a list of the names I found. Sadly it seems that most of the time females are just called by the name of the species while males have a special name wich makes the variety for female terms slimmer, but I grabbed the ones I found.

Also while looking, I found out that Alektorophobia is the fear of chickens.

Mr. Raze makes things canon, not technically 'in the game'.

That final choice lies purely on Ryuu's hands. I'll stick Avali no matter what direction the mod goes.

 

I don't think the Avali would be added into the main game for the simple reason of them being incompatible with 90% of the armour and vanity wear in the game.

And besides, I prefer them as a mod. Never did see the big deal over "omg this needs to be in the vanilla game right now!!!!"...

What's the saying? "Any sufficiently well-made mod is indistinguishable from base game"? ;P

I get the strange feeling that they're hinting at something coming!

 

Though, there was a tweet earlier in the thread from Tiy saying that they don't plan on implementing the mod precisely because the Avali are a non-humanoid race.
While I'd love for them to be vanilla, when one of the lead devs says "No, we can't do it because x" then I doubt they'd add it. Now just watch Ashton add in a slight mention to the Avali in the lore, that would be kinda funny.

 

That'd imply having to rework everything. It's already been done. And as Ryuu's done with things already, they have their own vanity because they're non-humanoid. Regular vanity just will not work.

My lack of sleep is showing. What I'd meant was whatever Ryuu decides, I'll stick with the Avali and the mod regardless. I've fallen in love with the cute critters. Just wish I could do more than talk and draw.
