Outdated Avali Race Mod 0.12.4

Well we're not allowed to craft guns ourselves yet for some bizarre reason (looking at you chuckelefish), so seems like fair option without overstepping parity.

I think you guys are overlooking the fact the player character in Starbound isn't "the Avali military" but a lone citizen. Human armies do not use crossbows, but you can obtain a crossbow as a civilian a hell of a lot easier than a rifle. (Unlss you live in say, the American South)

I personally love a Good Bow, a Long Sword or Spear, and Tactics.
I picture my Avali with a Foldable aerotech Bow and an aerotech Sword

Just an FYi but I'm re-doing some of the less popular tent pieces while I'm at it - ie. see the topmost piece (new fancy small sheet). I also plan to do the fancy large sheet; any objections?

Is the Mod Server-compatible?`
Because i am always getting a "Join failed! No server response received!"
And with an other Character it works and also every other Mod works...

 

Sweet idea. With being tricker to aim than guns I'd say you're pretty right about 2-3 shot kill. 1 shot might be a bit too powerful but if they're still fairly powerful then it would be incredibly useful against bosses and such since they're easier to hit and generally something you don't want to melee. Too bad monsters dissapear when you kill them because it would be fun to pin them to things. You could kite monsters back to your tent and pin them to the roof as a trophy haha.

Jokes aside, no. Spers are kind of THE Avali weapon and also a lot more impressive as a throwing weapon.

Well they arn't really for military use, they're for private sector use. And maybe the military does train with them. Maybe they go all rambo with explosive-tipped lances?

Also, what's the point of a thrown weapon you say?

Obviously the server needs to be running the mod too to be able to join it using a modded race.

 

It has to actually be installed on the server. And installed on every player's client that joins the server. All race mods are like this.

First off, seems embedded vids don't react to well to being in spoiler brackets sometimes.

Also @RyuujinZERO and @Silavor : Wouldn't it be sweet if servers were like many games that feature custom maps, where you automatically downloaded the mods when you join. Although that could pose problems as well. Not really the same as just downloading a map.

Or perhaps grenades? Aerogel is already shown to fragment easily, so surround an explosive with the stuff and you might as well be throwing a nailbomb at someone.

 

Actually, the devs already have something like this planned in the long term. Right now multiplayer support is relatively rudimentry (No mod compatibility checks or sharing, no anti-griefing tools etc)

Seriously guys, you need to look up Aerogel... you seem to think it's made of magic and death >.<

Pros:

• Extremely light
• Extremely good insulator
• Excellent strength-to-weight ratio
• Super cheap and easy to print from a 3D printer

Cons:

• Extremely light (Poor choice for projectiles or kinetic weapons
• Extremely good insulator (It isn't good for thermal weapons)
• Excellent strength-to-weight ratio (It weighs almost nothing, it's quite brittle)

 

I've installed every mod on my client and on the server and every mod works... except for this one...

 

I use all of them, but go ahead and do whatever? Are you planning on changing sizes (breaking tents) or just the looks?

There'll be some inevitable small changes to the footprint of the tents, but this'll be across the hypotenuse. The bottom and side faces will have the same footprint and so shouldn't break anything.

There's quite a lot of errors in there besides the Avali mod. What looks like a racial bonuses mod and a cheat mod are both acting up too. Some of the errors for the avali mod are weird, since they indicate a partial startup of the avali mod, but then other parts are missing. Have you tried the avali mod in single player/in multiplayer, in isolation to the other mods?

 

Orly? I found a stack of "plasma-jacketed ninja stars" or something like that and they did jack shizzaz when I tried them out. >:L
