Outdated Avali Race Mod 0.12.4

Not sure if i missed something, but the Avali Spawner spawns Hyotls for me instead. Is it just something i have?

Woops, Nevermind! I mixed it up with the Guard Spawner, so i take this one back!

 

Well, thumbs up, the NPC spawner seems to work just fine... Popped one down, hopped offworld and back and there was a new resident to my house...

... Who promptly slammed the door in my face and told me he had nothing to say to me. *nods* Clearly, he knows me already.

Now to play with the tents some and see if it works on a server.

Edit: Important safety note: Turrets which one may have placed to protect NPCs will actually attack NPCs...

Oh well, now I know why he was mad at me.

It's interesting to see some of these first tent designs! I find it particularly intriguing with how much symmetry is employed because I'm partial to more asymmetric aesthetics:

Base camp: established. Let the research and salvage operation of Apex labs commence!

 

Oh wow, i like the idea of using them as out-door banners. hadn't considered that. I'll put in a suitable prop or tile for making columns with in the next major update that are more fitting than the tent-poles.

 

Oh wow I love the idea of making banners, you gave me inspiration for what I should do with the entrance and the courtyard of my Great Yurt idea.

 

i may need to do some improvements, but heres what i made

 

Okay, so I sketched out a few concepts for some Avali NPCS.

Doctor: A quickly thrown on set of gloves, mask and apron for first aid. As most Avali are barefoot I figured they would have booties as well as gloves. The mask hooks onto the lower set of ears for comfort. The apron ties around the back of the neck and waist.

Blacksmith: Welding goggles, leather apron, thick gloves with wing guard, steel toed boots. The wing guard is a metal piece that wraps around the leading edge of the wing, with leather panels on both sides to protect the primary feather from sparks and bits of metal. It functions similar to a glove and the wing just slides into it.

Chef: Hat and coat. The goal of a chef's outfit is to keep stuff out of the food. The coat is buttons in the front and has a split down the back for the tail. The hat is fitted to the head and pushes back/covers the head feathers to keep them out of the food.

Anyway let me know what you guys think. (I won't be able to reply for like half an hour though)

 

T.T took me three hours to get yer stuff installed; when you update just let me know where the new file paths are? its going to make my life a ton easier for keeping your race the only non core one on my server. I am super tired right now from figuring that out and struggling with the crass issues I have with my host not having an unpacker built into their services....I literally had to create file and upload all the contents by hand.

 

:/ - why is it you're having to manually install this; if you just use winrar to unpack the files you can have them all automaticlly go to the correct places?

 

The chef, since they make food, their wings may get in the way, maybe add something that can hold their wings back.

The other two look fine

 

no unfortunately the server isn't locally hosted for me. its through vortex .... normally for other games there's just a mods function. because of how files are set up they haven't figured it out I guess which is moderately frustrating for me.

 

I'm not sure how cluttered that would make the sprite. I'm also not sure how flexible the feathers are.

I'll try a few things once I'm into the actual spriting. Maybe a feather net or a larger sleeve. I'll experiment.

 

You could use the asset packing tool in starbound/win32/ to convert the mod files into a pak and uplaod the pak to your server, that'd ensure it works

 

Tried that server came back with "No response from server" after about a twenty minute wait.

 

Are these about the Doctor, Tool(I presume unless it'll be possibly a blacksmith spawner from this mod), and Chef spawners if Avali were to spawn from them?
