Generalizing an entire fandom just makes you sound like a butt so don't do it.

To be fair, the MLP fandom in general is usually overly virulent, trying to put MLP ponies in EVERYTHING EVER. I've even seen people unironically photoshopping ponies into holocaust and genocide photos and claiming this is somehow respectful. I have no problem with the show itself (I even like some of the characters), but the constantly forcing ponies into everything else at every chance they get gets BLOODY ANNOYING, especially to non-MLP-fans. So don't be surprised then a vast majority of the rest gets a knee-jerk repulsion to trying to force MLP into other fandoms. I'm not even exaggerating, I see MLP stuff everywhere, injected into just about every remotely popular fandom ever. Sure, not every fan is guilty, but if this kind of stuff happens CONSTANTLY, it's still a problem.

I'm sure you'd feel the same if the Twilight fandom were constantly trying to inject/mod/photoshop sparklepires into everything they could and it was impossible to get anywhere without seeing sparklepires and sparklepire versions of everyone and everything.

Homestuck and Sonic were similar and got similar repulsion, although they were considerably less virulent than MLP. (well, online anyway, Homestuckers are notorious at cons. I'm a Homestuck fan, but I can admit this.)

They really need to chill with the ponies. Seriously. Or at least put actual creative twists on them, and at least make them work with the context, not just essentially copy-paste ponies onto anything and everything.

Alright, now let's shut up about non-Avali stuff and get back to hyping!

I wish more mlp fans could read your post. I love mlp to death, but I'm really sick of the crossovers too. Sometimes I just want to search on fandom and not get ponies and I can admit some mlp fans can be a little overbearing about mlp. I'm sure the majority aren't super obsessive bronies, but people who aren't really super intense about mlp don't really post unless necessary. I feel old cuz I remember the bloody "sonic oc, don't steal" craze, heck I was a part of it, but I didn't shove it everywhere. It's sad because bronies and pegasisters are awesome, but they get the bum rep because some people have taken it too far. Now mlp fans can hardly be themselves without getting flamed/trolled.

I'm pretty impressed on how it's grown to a full mod just by the few people who made mlp mods. If I wasn't so anal about lore I'd use it. I can just barely justify using the viera and nephilim, barely, but ponies I can't, just feels forced. I'm curious though can the pony races use normal hat mods or would there have to be height adjustments?

Anyways, I didn't find out about this mod until after Giraffe update thing. So just wondering what mods go good with this one. I know you need one for dyeing stuff and what not but I would still like to know some moar I could use with Avali.

 

Well there's the rentek armory mod and if you're still on enraged racial crossover(races have dialogue) is a must for really making the avali feel legit. I always use a buildable ship mod just so I can make a lore friendly ship. Most hats fit decent and theres a nice bow mod for avali as well. There's plently, but you really gotta google it thanks to this douchey outdated mods stuck in one messy clusterscrew issue.

 

There's also a mod, "Avali Augments and Assortments", which adds in dungeons, new props, crafting tables, etc, which are all Avali themed.
Quite nice.
Also Catalina Industries, which adds more Avali-themed clothing as well. Both are great mods, which aren't updated (and I dunno if they will be, honestly...)

 

Ugh I hope they are, I love the quest concept, but I am literally one agitation away from finding a way back to enraged and all its wonderful mods. The ftl questline needs to be shorter or much more basic. I had to delete my universe the first time because I spawned one without a desert planet, and I used the skiptutorial mod because the core fragment quest is ridiculous. Just knowing that the Avali mod is on its way it is keeping me kinda sane though.

Yeah I totally get that, when I play Skyrim I'm the same way, if the mods don't fit the setting and lore I don't use them, because I want it to feel like a richer world, not get taken out of my immersion by out-of-place stuff.

As far as I can tell, the modpack only has had 4 people work on it, The dude who originally made "Ponybound" who disappeared after Angry Koala update, the guy who made the Ponex race, Cobra who currently compiled the Pony Modpack and has added tons to it, and Deciton raven who has made a bunch of armor and other pixel art for the mod.

Technically I've also "worked" on it, but all I did was write most of the dialog from vanilla race NPCs talking to modpack race players, and dialog from the modpack race NPCs. No actual gameplay stuff or art or coding, just dialog.

Heh... I think the guy under you said it best. Again guy, nothing against your "fandom" here. I honestly don't even know you... so to you I don't judge because of some silly show. My only gripe is how it's forced in every crevice one can think of.... like Transformers in a Barney VHS....

I've been thinking about bridging mods and how to further improve Avali and introduce them to more mods. I have a couple of mods planned (distracted at the moment though), and I definitely plan to add Avali stuff/compatibility to them. c: One's a cooking expansion mod, and the other adds micro-shelters with helpful content scattered about.

Maybe after I get better experience at modding, I'll make isolated 'bridge' mods too for making popular mods work together and enhance each others. Or help with the existing ones, of course.
