RELEASED Avali Race Mod, The second thread!

I know I'm kind of late to the party but here's my votes:

Dye Color - Accent

Red - Blue or Teal since both are quite blue-ish and I think they'd both go well with eachother. Maybe even the teal a bit more than the blue.

Orange - Teal definatly.

Green - Orange oh yes. I've always loved this combination especially when the green is very camo-ish and the orange is close to being glowy.

You're spot on with this so even if it was up for a vote I'd go Blue - Orange.

Purple - Orange I've actually got my ship's captain's cabin in purple/orange so I'm all for that! I guess bronies would like the "spike" combo though. Btw what's the name for a female MLP fan? Are they "bronies" too? Sisies? lol...

Black - Red Terran Republic all the way. Good choice.

White - Teal This fits perfectly since teal is such a nice accent to orange as well so you can kind of use it to just mix and match orange and teal panels and such. Really like this combo.

Intresting question you brought up there, I never really thought about it. Nice to see it's been asnswered and thanks for the compliments about the picture I posted. I've always loved these two images.

Thank you, I'm glad I could give you some ideas Ryu. You know, maybe try to give SOMETHING back to the community.

I don't wanna' go too far into this but for me I pretty much think that at this level of progress, people have realized that the act sexual contact has no impact on society what so ever. Babies are made reguardless and sexual content doesn't morally corrupt the population and turn them into twisted demons so they probably just let people do their own thing, just like our society wouldn't care about homosexuality or trans-gender people or gay marriage or whatever if they just sat down and thought about it for 5 minuites.

Just thought of two things:

#1: Why are Avali tables 6 tiles wide instead of the normal 5? To fit more detail into them?

#2: Will Avali chairs be 2 or 3 tiles wide? Or maybe even 1 tile stool type thing?

Looking through my current ship, some more thoughts arose.

Will Avali have "Normal" beds or couches?

 

#1: Because screw convention!.
#2: Variable, there is a 3x2 high (armchair) already in, and I'm working on a 2 (desk chair), there's also be a 2x1 kneeling mat probably.
#3: Euni asks: "When are you humans going to get normal communal rest areas instead of those weird couches and elevated nests?"

 

Thanks for the response, but I was hoping for some word of god so I don't have to make up a bunch of (potentially) stupid characteristics that won't work well with Avali (Avalia? Avalis?) preexisting lore.

So far I have it coming up with "This situation is very important." and leaving it at that. I'm not sure it wouldn't make a guess, especially if it works through Bayesian networks and somesuch contrivances. (sort of like Singularity Sky)

Hey even if you wanna' advertise yourself as "tribal" and "nomadic" when you have an empire spanning multiple planets/systems you gotta' have a lot of pencil pushers to keep track of it all.

 

That, or information sharing and networking that'd make the NSA squee in delight.

One thing I've found extremely hard to get information on is farming for Avali. Where in the world do you get 90% of the materials to make the foods. All I know how to make is the meat.

 

You should start out with a few Piru barnacles and some Nakati Ovoids, and you can get kiri fruit from an avali food merchant. As for how to find avali food merchants, get lucky.

 

True, also just saw this after doing a google search for Avali. It's for some armor stand mod and I just wonder, what's the armor on the far left? Never seen that before.

It was a prototype, unfinished set that the mannequin mod#s maker didn't realise wasn't actually in the game, just the files

Are you using a ship mod? - If you're using a custom ship you won't start with the avali seeds naturally since those ship mods won't have the Avali starter gear. You should start the game with 3 Nakati ovoids (lumiscent blue globs), and 3 Piru Barnacles (Small pinkish coloured lumps) in the ship locker, as well as a damaged aerotech blade, 10 torches and matter manipulator.

"plant" those and you can obtain piru fronds (and thus piru flour), and nakati bark, which can be combined to produce spiced jerky or tacos. The final food item requires you to find an avali colony (kiri fruit)

 

Do you know what mod that was? And if it modified the mannequin texture when previewing armor?

I saw that picture a while back, but I can't find the mod any longer.

 

Yes I am using a ship mod. I just found that out myself as to be the issue. Is there anything you or Madtulip can do temporarily to alleviate that issue? I'm not sure if you were planning to work with him or not since he added your race into the mod.

 

Or don't get lucky, and download my Avali add-on that is linked in my signature. Then you cab spawn in some Avali merchants easily.

 

The strange part is, that mad tulip added an exception for the avali, but erroneously added hylotl seeds instead of avali seeds. I have enquired about him fixing that but he's on hiatus. Conversely I' m not sure I can directly affect his mod through the avali mod to fix it. I could create a compatibility patch, but I'd rather avoid working with compatibility patches (Which may require frequent updates) when the mod is still in an unfinished state technically.

If you go into madtulip/ships/avali/madtulip_avali_ship.structure (use notepad), and replace the line that says:

"treasurePools": [​

The line below that, replace with:
"avaliStarterTreasure"

You'll need to delete your ship file or start a new character though. Alternatively, just wait til you find an avali colony, and steal their crops
