RP Avali Nexus: The RP thread

Reks sat in a hotel, high up and overlooking one of the cities of Abraxis.

She gently nursed a glass of tea, thinking deeply.

Her luck had not gone well when it came to jobs. Many did not believe her claims of her reputation. Even the few who took her services kept the deeds quiet. She had more money than what she could properly do with, but Reks herself felt unused and quite bored.

She opened up an AR screen with a flick of her thoughts, reading through logs and messages.

No new job offerings.

She let out a small sigh, and took another sip of tea.

 

As the door opens..

*Dav focuses his attention on Rin and his guest* "And who might you be?"

Everyones looks towards Rin and his guest.

*Dav thinks to himself* "And this is why my office is large for events such as these.."

// uhh, wait a sec, what ship?

 

"I'm Riley Laeuborn." He nodded and waved a hand towards Dav in greeting, hoping his greeting wasn't 'offensive' in any way. He inhaled and spoke again. "I am looking for a job, preferably in the Mechanics or Engineering field." Riley replied, heaving in a breath and straightening his posture after he spoke, keeping his focus on Dav.

 

// Ah okay. Okay! *throws Bayley#2 into the bin* Time to make an alien race.
Aaaahhhhhh

 

*Dav speaks in a calm tone as he focuses on Riley* "Yes, we have both positions available."

*Dav goes in his desk draw and pulls out a tablet like piece of technology and on it shows an application* "I need you to just fill this out and return it to me. Please take your time."

"Of course." He picks up the tablet and reads it over before making any marks, then, one by one, fills in the missing blanks. "When should I expect for interview, or... rather how will you contact me?" He asks, filling out the form.

 

*Dav looks to his other guests* "Anyone else who needs an application please do speak up. Any questions?"

*Motions Solaro over to him and says* "Solaro will you be accompanying? If so, then I leave the mission briefing to you."

*Dav calls Hylan, Rura, and Midora over* "So, Midora will be in charge of you two here. I need you to both fill out these applications."

*Dav hands Hylan and Rura an application* "Return this to me once you are done. Please take your time."

Rin looks at Riley. "You could help us out on our mission, too!"

 

*Dav focuses his attention on Riley responds* "I am available later today or tomorrow for interviews. If you want to schedule one for a specific day that is fine as well."

*at the end of the hotel's restaurant area, near the bar, stood a Celion. slightly taller than average by Celion standards, his fur black is broken up by the acid-green bio-luminescent patterns. he looked over the people in the restaurant until his eyes fell upon a peculiar looking Avali. something was off about her, and Karonu knew just what it was*
your drink sir. *a waitress puts down a fancy looking drink*
thanks. *picks up the drink and moves over to the white Avali* this seat taken? *motions to an open chair by Reks' table*

 

Solaro nods. "Yeah, I'm coming all right."

 

// Ok I didn't see you leave.. I thought you were on the elevator with Solaro.. my mistake. From last time I had 2 quests with Solaro coming on the elevator. I guess that will be retconned out then.

 

Riley opened up a small tab that stems from his watch. "Tomorrow, if that's alright." He turns in the application. The application was quite positive, the highest note having a doctorate in engineering, especially at his relatively young age.
Riley thought about food, how long would it be before he actually gets a pay check IF he does get the job? Sure, he has food to spare in his ship, but only a week's worth, potentially two and a half if he could eat it sparingly.

 

"Not at all, help yourself."

Reks regards the tall creature.

Yet another species she didn't know.

"Not to flatter, but as Avali standards go that green would make you very handsome."

 

"You look distressed. What's wrong, Riley?"

 

*Hylan and Rura fill out the applications and hand them to Dav*

"Will you two be accompanying Rin as well? Since you are part of his team that is. If that is the case I will see it to that all of you are properly equipped and have Midora make an repairs or upgrades if you choose. This is going to slightly on the dangerous side so be prepared. If you like.. I will give permission for Rin's group access to our training rooms for new weapons and gear as well."

*Hylan and Rura both reply* "We would like to go, but that is up to our leader Rin." *They both look at Rin awaiting his response*

Riley's Gaze shifted over to Rin quickly, he meant to take it away but it stood focused on the avali. "Uhh..." he thought about lying and brushing it off, "I'm low... well not even low, out of money. I'm concerned if I'll have anything to eat within the period if I get the job and when my pay comes along."

Riley looked towards Dav, curious now, but reverting his focus back to Rin.
