Avali Nexus the Fifth

well if starbound dies... i hope to find the avali elsewhere... they are just too well developed to just disappear along with starbound

 

I think the main reasons people leave are:
1. They can't keep up, or just don't want to. Let's face it, we've all woken up in the morning and thought "37 pages since last night? Crud, I'm not going through all that nonsense!"
The best way I can think of to fix this would be... well, somehow slowing the pace a bit. Maybe making even more seperate threads or keeping the RP to a chat or something.
2. They don't like the pseudo-RP that goes on here. I was a bit intimidated by the thought of getting caught up in an RP situation when I first joined because... Well... I'm kind of antisocial.
Well, I dunno how to fix this, though the above could work for this as well, probably.
3. They got bored, either with the thread, the randomness, or Starbound itself. I've done this a few times; hence why my being here is usually kind of sparrodic.
We can't really do anything about this. It's their feelings and thoughts, after all.
4. Physical life happened and they've been busy.
Ditto to the above.

 

They've been in Spore and Secondlife, and I think I heard Ryuujin mention them eventually moving to Planet Explorers, though I'm not entirely sure if the race itself will make it to the game.

 

Starbound is too hyped to die for now. It is still a possibility.

I have also noticed a drop in the quality of mods, as well. Is it just me?

Planet Explorers? I haven't heard of that. What is it?

 

I've actually had a few ideas with a 3D starbound, I can sorta make it but I'm not devoted to making it with the unreal 4 engine even payment doesn't motivate me...

 

Planet Explorers... Is like an RPG/Sandbox/... You know what, it's a bit like Starbound, but with only 1 planet, and it's 3d. And an RPG. Stuff. Early access, too. That about sums up my knowledge of it, but there's always Google.

 

i seriously wanna see the avali in more places ... simply because of its amazingness. though its probability of showing up elsewhere is low because of actually having to make models and assets for them... its really too bad in my oppinion

I'm sorry, but don't make me laugh.

 

You haven't seen the unreal 4 engine have you.... I don't even need to know how to code to make the base game.

 

I don't care how easy making games in Unreal 4 is, you simply cannot turn a 2D sandbox game into a 3D version without anyone helping you.
Who will do the coding? Art? Sound? Music?
Are you going to be able to figure out a way to do it without ending up with a straight up Minecraft clone?

 

Well, it's more a problem of I just can't be bothered to make the model files. I can make place holders for the basic game.

 

A lot if not most of us are in some way anti social, we're supposed to be a group of friends, if you're not comfortable here, there's a problem.

We're suposed to watch out for one another, a 'clan'... takes good care of its own.

 

well ... seeing the context of this thread... i would more rather call it a pack or tribe .... though you are right indeed it is a grouping of likeminded people that are just trying to find somewhere they fit in.... and hoping to make lasting friends.... or analogy again.... form a pack ...

A large part of the issue lies in the way the thread is being used, Currently, it's mostly reminiscent of a chat or IRC.

The daily content isn't well thought out arguments at the designated subject at hand- Arguments worth saving for future reference in the forum format.
It consists of interaction between select individuals, and RP with the occasional posting of Vidya. Not something necessarily in need of easy access for future reference.

Every so often there is valid points, and comments with "purpose", But there is no ease of access for quick information gathering.

That is not to say that it's incorrect in itself-
I like the Nexus, it's cute. And without all the fluff that surrounds the "valid" content, the arguments would never even arise to begin with.

Perhaps we should make an IRC channel for the RP-type stuff and silly banter?

 

in other words if it was not for our RP it would not bring @RyuujinZERO in here every so often to correct us and thus we would not develop the avali any further if we had more people this would be amazing....

An increase in posters would only serve to ruin the content that is. This is not a good idea.

I would make an analogy between two certain imageboards here, but I will refrain from doing such things.
