I am going to attempt to frequent the nexus. Maybe I can get some Art inspiration or something who am I kidding
// make some police brutality art where the mods are beating the shit out of a feral Surge and locking up an bruised Rukii? or maybe giving tickets to a bunch of playing Avali?
I really love how, each time we hear someone talk in a language we absolutely don I'm gonna have it running in the background while I work on school projects o 3o In other non-news, I am so glad I'm going to spend holy week at home, instead of at apartment The internet cut out over here ; ^; You are evil, genius, and shameless EDIT: forums why do you butcher my posts
I had a few ideas and thoughts, and knowing how my mind works if I don't type them up or write them down, I WILL forget. Now, given how the current plan is to move to our own forums eventually, I had a few thoughts of my own I wanted to get out in public. So, since some have mentioned and discussed who'd be a good admin/moderator ect ect ect, I had a few thoughts regarding that, for myself. No, this is not a power play. I don't care for holding control over others. Seeing as I've been a part of the Nexus since the very near beginning, I've seen fluctuations in how the clan has worked and how interactions went between others. What I'm getting at is more of a role of mediation, not moderation. What would make this different? A moderator is supposed to settle disputes and, when need be, smash the hammer. Seeing as Surge is our likely candidate for that position, wouldn't he just be able to handle both on his own? My idea for this gives him a bit of room. If I, or someone more suited to the task should it be considered, fill the role of a mediation position with more limited power (though one that tries to settle a dispute rather than flash the "I HAVE THE POWER" card), what makes it that I or other person wouldn't be obsolete? Well, considering how people reacted to the moderators here in CF doing what they did, it suddenly became a 'fear tactic' on one end, as seen by some, though the moderators technically WERE doing their jobs... Albeit a bit heavy-handedly at times, deserved or no. My idea puts a buffer in between that. I would not be able to do anything a moderator would, but aside from a black and white issue with a clear consequence, I'd handle the issues that don't have a yes or a no answer, trying to settle the dispute without needing to rely on fear of a crackdown from a mod. I do realize it might sound silly or unnecessary, but it IS just an idea. And I'd love the position myself. I can't claim I'm perfect for the job, since I'm not often involved (though I AM here, as I check the thread and read through daily), nor can I claim it's all of good intentions. Yes, I do want to help others and I get a lot of positive feedback and enjoyment out of doing so, but I can't deny that I want to personally do so. I don't like being entirely ignored, though I doubt many if any do, and the way it theoretically would be set up, I WOULD have sayso after working with the issue whether or not it needed to be passed on for the moderator hammer. I like being relied upon. Without that I don't quite feel like I'm doing much worthwhile. And again, these are my own thoughts and ideas. Take them with a grain of salt, please.
Of course. I don't expect or want to be made queen just because I've been here for a while. If some don't think I wouldn't be able to do it well, or it isn't necessary, they deserve to be heard too. After all, I can't get better without feedback.
speaking of Surge, havent seen him for a while, is the hammer still embedded in his head? samething with Rukii
Okay, things about BBoards. Since it looks almost exactly like Bay12 I'm going to take my experience here. Subforums must have an admin assigned to them for that admin to moderate there. This means things like me being admin for the RP subsection while not being some overpowered fuck because I also have control over general discussion.
Sounds good to me. Combine this with Rek's idea of experienced mediators (e.g. you for RP) and things will work for me ^^ Edit: @Myifee Your idea is superb Reks, just wanna say that. Good things like this come FROM SPEAKING FREELY.
