It's possible your account was lost when everything made after April 26th popped out of existence.
You may have to recreate it.

Well I thought it would be some sort of over dramatized flaming on what had happened, but instead its a smart yet humorous presentation of what modders, and a few mod users (myself included) have been trying to tell people about...

I dunno. I'm just a console peasant, I have no idea what's going on.

Well, to keep it short: Valve, a quite big name in the gaming industrie tried something that many considered incredibly controversial, which was the release of a system to allow mod authors to be able to charge for their creations (valve partnering with the developer ofc). And Skyrim, which has a humongous community of modding was chosen for this experiment.

Now! modding has always been around, at least for years now, and many just give it for granted, it ll stay with us and people will always create good and better content, now this is half true... mod authors will always create, because they love to create, wether its for themselves or for the community, people always get benefitted one way or another. Ideas evolve and someone else makes a great creation basing it off an older mod blah blah blah... this is a sensitive point in modding, and the argument that many (uncountable even) used to "rise agaisnt" the idea of a "paywall" for content that ve grown accostumed to. From there on, many websites around the world wide web were witness of how grudging and gory people can be, mod users turned agains the authors who said "hey! maybe this is a good idea!" and they turned agaisnt a giant and indomiteable mass that suddenly forgot who they were attacing... lets say "The dog bit the hand of its master" in this case, as in people did the worst (and I wont get into details here) to the mod authors they "loved" for simply speaking out in favour of the iniciative, this was also the case of Ryuujin Zero who as far as Im concerned, had nothing to do with skyrim at the time.

That video pretty much summarizes everything that happened after the flames started to die down.

edit: heh sorry I tried to summarize things, but it still became a word wall :p

I mean, if people made it for free before why change it?

short answer: hoomans need to eat, pay taxes, lots of mindless shit we created ourselves to further give meaning to effort and effect. but the most honest answer? well, given you are getting paid for what you already love, this means people who are really talented can further develop their great ideas or mods instead of being forced to abandon them half of the road. a lot of them are your average joe with a job, or school, or do not even have a job and thus mod because of free time, until they NEED to find a job and their mods end up abandoned or on an undefined hiatus.

While humans do need money to live, this would have been a terrible way of getting money, with only 25% of the profits going to the modder.
Not to mention the fact that the modder needs to have gained $100 from his/her mod in order to actually have the money given to him - this means your mod needs to make $400 before you see 100 bucks. Which is, quite frankly, a pitiful amount.

The system could have been fixed, but Valve and Bethesda fucked it up the first time and stained the concept. Any further tries will result in the same backlash.

Plus, have you seen Greenlight? That place is a trainwreck full of shovelware and so-called developers looking to make some quick cash, and this is happening even though entering Greenlight requires a fee. Modders wouldn't even have to pay in order to sell their mods, they wouldn't have to wait for their game to be actually accepted by anyone for it to sell, and they have nothing to lose for the most part if their reputation is ruined, anyway.

It would have been Greenlight 2: Shitty Mod Boogaloo.
