Nah, clicking with the keyboard is how people usually do it, that helps a lot too.
Also people often hover just above their tablets rather than sliding along them, but that's just personal preference of how you like your friction and whether you want to spare your pen nibs.

Just grab it whenever you're ready.
And yeah, I turned my mouse clicks off too, but then I stopped using a mouse so that stopped mattering.

I mean that osu has a setting specific to ignore clicks, and I tick that checkbox because sometimes the pen actually touches the tablet and it throws me off a bit for some reason (probably just paranoia of just knowing that it can click)

 

Oh right I forgot that touching a tablet does the click thing. That's why I still have clicks turned off. That makes more sense.
(Whew I would have been very sad if you told me you used mouse)

 

I tried doing the hovering thing but my tablet doesn't have a good range where it "feels" the proximity of the tip, so I guess I'll just have to keep it down. The friction seems to help me control the movement, too.

I also disabled it since I keep my tablet pen pressed down, otherwise it would probably detect clicks constantly.

Yeah, the hover range on mine isn't great either, but if you hover for long enough you kind of get used to the small range.
It might also be easier to make big jumps when hovering instead of sliding, but I dunno.
It's no problem, ask as much else as you'd like.

(Some things are subject to change over time as the character is further developed, and I just realized he lacked an actual name other than the one I used in-game that wasn't really RP-friendly, and shall call him Seb for now.)

As far as what he is/looks like, he is an Avali, bearing a black coat with purple details (if I had a screenshot I would use that, but I don't. I will have to wait for the mod to be re-updated before I can do that.)

His background story is that he was part of an exploration fleet that strayed too far from its path and crash landed. He was the sole survivor of the crash, and had no way of getting off or signaling for help. Weeks passed, and the isolation began to drive him mad.
He doesn't know exactly how much time had passed, other than that one day, he woke up to find that two individuals of different and unknown species had found him and brought him aboard their ship. Again, he is unsure of the exact details, but after some time he accepted these two individuals as his new pack.

The portals are advanced technology of one of the two individuals mentioned in the background story.

I am hoping this is enough, and I apologize for the lack of information given before. This took a while to type...

 

I'm not sure if the portals are lore friendly, Im mostly likely to be wrong so don't listen

I'm pretty sure opening a portal isn't cheap, and would cost a lot of energy..

And imagine the thing you'd need to make to do that..
