    Codename Rune Subatomic Cosmonaut

// So we would be detected and investigated when landing the Condor ?

  2. Corosar

    Corosar Scruffy Nerf-Herder

//By Yol yes... distress beacons however... would not get out past the planet... because of its EM barrier around it...

Smallpaw cursed quietly in Precursor. Of course. That meant someone else knew. "What did you hear?"

  4. Corosar

    Corosar Scruffy Nerf-Herder

*she softly petted smallpaw worried for him*

    it should be okay....

  5. Jerecho

    Jerecho Void-Bound Voyager

// Our story line and finding Farrem relies heavily on being able to find his beacon. Perhaps a momentary waver in the EM bubble allowed the Andra Majeir to pick up a snippet of the signal.

"'Should be' does not make it all right." He sighed. "It is not the end of the world if people find out, but it just makes things...odd."

  7. Silverotter

    Silverotter Weight of the Sky

An EM bubble should cause enough interference that careful watchers would notice something's wrong.

  8. Jerecho

    Jerecho Void-Bound Voyager

// We still need to zero in on Farrem, so once in under the bubble will we be able to receive his signal?

  9. Ehksidian

    Ehksidian Spaceman Spiff

    Yes, more than likely.
Otherwise the Celion (Celions? what is plural) wouldn't be able to communicate at all on the planet.

  10. Corosar

    Corosar Scruffy Nerf-Herder

*she sighed a bit and softly pet the smallpaw gently scratching behind the ear*

it didn't change anything between me and you ... so... don't worry
//Reks mentions that Celarra has a Electro magnetic barrier that prevents its detection from sweeping signals.A direct pulse would be able to get out but not in This would be one of the only ways a distress signal would get out.... it would literally have to be beam like instead of wave like
//the send signal would get out... but the return signal would not return and be absorbed into the barrier it uses the natural Electro magnetics of the planet amplified so that signals reks will post more about it in a few minutes.

// most likely. Com has ordered to exit FTL-transit half a million kilometers away from the planet. In this distance short-range scanners should pick up that something's wrong with comms. we would see the gravitation sphere AND the planet after all. Although I personally (and Rune too most likely) would think that it's something more natural (storms, etc.). And thus we will most likely come in with a landing ship.

    Okay, regarding the barrier.

Celions would be able to pick it up IF the ship increased the strength of the signal... But that's the only way they could get it out.

Also, Celions are currently really only occupying two planets. Celarra itself, and the neighboring planet that can support life but doesn't have much yet.

Celarra has no moon, the other unnamed planet has two.

Regardless, the signal CAN be sent, but if it is strengthened enough to pierce the EM bubble, the Celions are very likely to notice it and investigate.

// And it's VERY VERY unlikely that the MARS urgency/distress/emergency channels would have the exact keypart to cancel out the electric static (reverse-static). For that they would need to know the exact data about the EM barrier. And if this things is random and changes even this tactic is useless.[DOUBLEPOST=1421943103][/DOUBLEPOST]
// Distress signals and answers are stronger and "sturdier" than most normal signals in case there is static or something but normally they are neither strong nor directed or focused as it isn't known where the craft/beacon is exactly.

// Also, a broadcast could be picked up by ANYTHING (logically) so they would most likely pick it up, yes.
// Has the moon a established connection to the planet? If it does the electronic warfare section might pick up a transmission (but only if they scan the sector for exactly this and even then they would most likely think it is just something natural). And to run across a transmission (only "there" for seconds or minutes) in space isn't very likely

"But that is because you are the one who did it. You could tell as soon as I got here. That is why I tell everyone to call me Smallpaw, rather than Aaron, simply because Ehks might think people are calling for them rather than me."

//it would still alert the celions if a distress beacon was sent out... would not be surprising if the celions force a wipe of coordinates before even letting them leave with the person that crashed there. as well as making sure no one knows about the location.... if there was a way to wipe the memories they would most likely do it but otherwise normally they would prevent even a single person from leaving their planet.

    *she shrugged and smiled*

well i quickly changed to make sure because you and ehks are technically two different people that deserve to be known as such but otherwise... your still the same... its just easier to call you by your current life's birth name

Friend came in room again and is still incredibly perplexed by my Rhea plushie.
it's amazing how he's going "what the fuck is it it's like a mass of a bunch of animals and has a pikachu face", then commented on the lack of knees
    i laughed so much
    it's amazing.
"I know, I know..." Smallpaw sighed. "And it is better that way. Keeping us separate, because we are...in a way."
