Yeah but we drink water so we cry water but since they drink ammonia they'd cry ammonia too, right? It would be rather ridiculous if they cried water without having any water in their system, not to mention I'm pretty sure the stuff would be toxic to them for similar reasons to why you can't drink floor cleaner.
I know, those are pretty big oversimplifications, but...

 

Hey, Ryuujin, with this pack of core scripts, is it possible sometime in the future that we can craft/build ourselves drones?

 

re: the new tileset. I'm not sure quite what it is, but a lot of them seem... flatter than the original tiles, and I don't like that as much. Is that just an artifact of being WIP, or is it a new look?

I've talked about this before, but I find it unlikely that avali would cry tears of sorrow, as only humans and maybe elephants do it. Further, it's thought to be a visual gesture, which doesn't make a lot of sense for avali--they probably couldn't even see if someone's crying.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I get the impression that the humanlike emotes are more a shorthand than actually representative of what the avali look like, much like how NPCs sometimes release clouds of love hearts.

Avali emote with their ears, correct? Humans are pretty good at interpreting animal feelings from ears and other body language, I wonder if we'd be similarly good at reading avali. On the flipside, I think avali would have a hard time reading us because of our reliance on subtle facial expressions.

Edit: Okay, I should be more specific about my thoughts on the tiles. The tech tiles look pretty good, it's the tent tiles that look strangely flat, like they're super-taut.

 

On the subject of crying I'm not sure how 'canon' this helpful diagram is:

Now as you can see, the 'crying' is a anime styled 'waterfall of tears' hence the assumption that it might not be a cannon detail.

I am so glad things seem to have kicked back up. I am just excited for the reboot I am curious what RyuujinZERO will do.

 

First of all, I gotta say that I'm really looking forward to the release of this mod. Even though I'll have to start over from scratch when it comes out...

And another thing... What would Avali even consider cold? Liquid nitrogen and stuff? Would it basically be analogous to ice cream for them? Or am I mistaking my temperatures?

 

Well, considering liquid nitro to be about -196ºc, which is substantially colder than ammonia's freezing point of -77ºc, it would be considered hazardous to them.

 

So we haven't got any imput in your project? then why even have this thread up, just so we could be your cheerleaders? I mean, if you want to make a log whenever you update something you can do it without the tread, if you want to work alone then work alone.
I guess it's good for impatient people who want to hear all the updates regularly so they can know that the release is less far away every day.

Edit: Ihaven't read all the 36 pages, so my statement could be a little biased

As I said, it's good for people who are impatient about updates, althrough I will never understand them since I find it more enjoyable to find the looks and functions of those things for myself, it's the same thing with the starbound wiki really.

 

That statement isn't completely off the mark.

Many content creators are fueled by appreciation; it's certainly isn't more tangible things like like say... money.

You're also conflating feedback with creative control. The former I certainly find useful, criticism and approval alike.

 

Well your job is commendable(especially because you're doing it for free), but it just seems a little off to make a topic like this in which the community hasn't got any personal imput.

Edit: But I do understand your point of view as well, wanting to be cheered up by the community has it's upsides when it comes to development time I guess, it just seems a little nacissistic.

 

tbf he probably does take some criticism on, just because he's said he doesn't want help, doesn't mean he doesn't want or use feedback from the community.

 

he's explicitly said he doesn't want help in the form of "i can code/draw/write for you" in the past, so.

 

Well then, I appologise, in his description in this thread he seemed very vague about the subject.

 

Not really, when you look at your first post "can I help with the mod" answer. I mean, we outsiders don't really know what that means beyond "I don't want to listen to anything you say about my project".
