Please add the option on a server to automatically join everyone to a party. Or if this isn't possible, to at least show everyone's characters so they can be invited
There definitely needs to be a GUI for viewing players on a server and sending quick private messages or invites.
Erm, no. People can teleport to your ship and steal everything if you auto-joined a party upon entering a server. Again, no, bad idea. People would flock to wherever you are, and grief you and whatnot. It's currently quite easy to party up with someone and join them. I like the system as it is; don't see anything wrong with it.
Not a 'bad idea' - way to be constructive. For those of us that play on servers just with friends, not servers full of griefers, it's a good idea. Obviously it would be a toggleable option in the server config, so it can be on for groups of people that know each other, and off for whatever awful server you're playing on.
But you could join a server that has it on without knowing the server has it on, and people could quickly raid your ship. If you play on a server with just friends, then it's not too difficult to just add everyone by name to a party.
I think it would work just fine if there was a command like /inviteall that would send a party invite to anyone not in your party and they could accept or decline. I agree that having a flag in the server settings that automatically parties everyone no matter what is a pretty bad idea.
This is a much better idea. I would actually like to have this in, as long as there is an "auto-decline party invite" checkbox in the options menu. I have played too many MMO's, where people would constantly send me party invites, making it impossible to play.
