Right now it feels awkward that monsters hurt you by just touching you have to swing/shoot to do damage to mobs. Especially when you take the Floran race for example which itself looks more like a monster than some mobs. I think it would be a good idea to take away the "touch damage" and have proper attack animation for mobs. This would also balance the difficulty and good timing in fights would be rewarded.
This would be cool but some attacks like charge and bodyslam would be touch damage. overall we just need more attacks for mobs. Honestly it would be nice if mobs could spawn with attacking parts like spiked tails or tendrils.
Sure, a charge is an attack so it should damage the player when he/she gets hit. But all time touch damage seems really weird to me when the mob is already aggressive on sight. Body parts that can be animated to show the actual attack seems like a very good idea to me, even if it were just the mouth that could bite for some mobs I would be happy!
What about a charge animation for projectile attacks? So you know some birdbrain is about ot launch lightning at your facial area?
That's a wonderful idea! A subtle way of telling the player to gtfo would be understandable by everyone. So people who think the game is too hard have it easier to grasp the way combat works and can have fun with the game while maintaining the difficulty level!
