Asteroid fields.

You wiped my old home. It is but a distant memory now.
But you gave me a new one. An oxygen deprived, grappling hook wonderland filled with more treats than one could imagine. 'Tis a good home.

Anyone looking to not die in this heaven should get themselves a "replace" that you can build after reforging MK3.... I believe. It's made of pixels and durasteel.

 

Best way to shelter your house from meteor-showers?

In the asteroid field!

 

The closer you are to danger, the farther you are from harm.

 

Pffff, would be funny if the occasional asteroid was pulled out of orbit and one day your home ended up perched precariously on a planet's cliff.

Unless they make gas giants explorable. Which they should.

 

what could they do with them? they dont have any surface or mineable minerals, maybe gases could be a resource though.

 

Maybe make it absolutely useless to visit a gas giant planet unless you've got the tech to keep you afloat?

Some kind of civilisation of helium-balloon people?

 

Now I want a Zeppelin, floating through the atmosphere of a gas giant....

 

Thousands upon thousands of smallish flesh biomes. Just floating there, waiting for you to harvest their organs and sell them to the Floran black market buffets.

Kind of reminds me of a side mission in Space Pirates And Zombies where you have to collect waste "meat product substitute" from barrels floating around in space for a fast food chain.

 

Gas giants...

They could have a liquid core ("core" being larger than most planets, of course). Because the gas is so dense it's compressed.

Then there should be solid clouds (like Terraria). Because sometimes science needs to take a break.

 

I've gotta find an asteroid belt.

 

Is there an item you can craft that prevents asphyxiation in asteroid belts?

 

Whats a 'replace' I can't find it and I would like to live on one of these asteroids.

 

Durasteel Tier item, looks like an HUGE oxygen tank, takes 20 durasteel and I think 1000 pixels (Tier 4 was Durasteel I think).
Basicly you put it in your backpack slot (activ slot, not the vanity one) and then you can go on asteroid fields.
The Oxygen Tank is named "replace" and the description also says "replace" which is probaly a placeholder for Oxygen Tank or something like that.

 

I hope they add more options, maybe something per tier and the lower tiers have penalties. Like the base tier being the equivalent of a space suit made of duct tape - it works, but it makes it so you can't move very effectively (maybe can't attack or a severe penalty to movement speed or something). If someone wants to make a mod to have that happen...I notice features seem to get in quicker when a mod happens to implement it really well (can't blame the devs for that...wish more companies would take that approach honestly, instead of every modable game having a list of critical mods everyone uses).

Perhaps lower tier oxygen tanks just prolong suffocation rather than stop it?

 

Yeah that would be a good concept, Tier 2 is a crappy oxygen tank only giving oxygen for roughly 3 minutes. Tier 3 would be an advanced one allowing you to spend 10 mins on a moon/asteroid field, Tier 4 the current one would allow you to breath for 30 mins on there. And the last unlockable (durasteel tech upgrade) would be a portable oxygen generator allowing you to spend infinite time on there.

Also they should create some oxygen system to indoors, I find tons of abadoned mining stations with airlocks in asteroid fields... but in none of them my character can breath propper. Therefor a deployable oxygen generator would be cool
