asphalt?

    Well the wiki says once you've gathered both cobble & tar you automatically learn the blueprint for it.
    for some reason beyond my knowledge I can't craft this block is this intended?

    The wiki must be mistaken. Asphalt is a recipe you must find in tar chests.

    No, the wiki says that it is crafted with Cobblestone and Tar, not where you learn the recipe.
