Today in As Stardew Valley Turns we discuss Lewis's 20 year run as mayor of Pelican town. When asked how he could hold a position for so long, he shrugged and said "no one seems to want to challenge me". This is odd, as surely there is someone that is upset with Lewis's duties and would want to challenge him. Demetrius or Harvey would be good choices as far as temperament goes, and it would be good to get some "new blood" in...yet every year Lewis is unopposed. Very strange, given his relationship with Marnie. Why does everyone in town seem to turn a blind eye to the relationship between Lewis and Marnie? A farmer new to town saw the alleged relationship and tried to bring it to light by humiliating Lewis during a local fair and was given hush money. Maybe the real reason Lewis has held the position for so long is bribing those that could challenge him?

Not to mention Mayor Lewis seems to hold much too much power, handling the agricultural committee (...who else is even on that?), shipment of crops and goods (to where??? We see a few things pop up at Pierre's, but what happens to the rest? Export? Black market? Demonic offerings?). It's even rumored that he handles all the mail in town! He has access and control over all our information, our food, and our laws. This man has too much power! And what's with hiding his relationship with Marnie? Doesn't pretty much everyone know about that in a town this small anyway? Poor Marnie... having to hide her relationship, taking care of a mysterious niece and her drunken ...wait, what is Shane's relationship to her again??? And all she wants to do is care for animals and be loved!

Today in As Stardew Valley Turns we discuss the Joja cola! While Sam eagerly drinks these down, everyone else can't stand them, making one wonder why Joja has them as the "flagship" if 95% of the population dislikes it! There's also the matter of a local farmer finding these cans all over rivers, lakes, underground lakes, and oceans even...and as tasty as the ones that are purchased in the local vending machine at the saloon! What on earth is the can made out of? Why does Sam love the cola but his best friends Sebastian and Abigail dislike it? Is Joja really clueless when it comes to their sugary drink, would a red bull or monster drink be better?

Today in As Stardew Valley Turns we discuss a rather unique individual!

Linus is seen by most of the people in Pelican Town as a bizarre individual. He dresses strangely and acts in a way that makes people think he's homeless - dumpster diving and living in a tent on land held by Demetrius and Robin (who views him as strange). However, a farmer has noted that Linus seems to be far more aware than a traditional homeless person, like his "homeless persona" is all an act and he's actually a druid or someone of great power just pretending to be homeless. When asked, Linus evaded the question, furthering his aura of mystery. Which is the real Linus, a homeless man who has had some interesting experiences or a man fully aware of everything and just pretending to be homeless?

Oh, there was a post that was darker and more action oriented than the rest of the thread and I told him to rework it, guess he just deleted it instead. The rest of the thread is poking fun at various things that show up in one way or another, set up in a soap opera style way. If you find something bizarre or different in Stardew Valley, feel free to mention it here, so long as it's funny and light-hearted!

I'm sure you'll find something that seems odd or different here, and this is a "post strange stuff in a humorous vein", so if you find something bizarre and want to mention it here, go ahead! :) Just remember, As Stardew Valley Turns is always looking for new material (so long as it's funny and lighthearted)

Comment from another thread, too good to pass up...

Today it was discovered that Emily and Haley were fighting. Turned out that the fight was because a farmer gave a gift to Haley. When asked why this upset Emily so, she commented that "the farmer's married to ME". This didn't make sense though, because why would Emily object to her sister getting a gift, even if it was her brother-in-law giving it? Is Emily worried that the farmer will dump her for her sister? Was the gift harmless and Emily is overreacting, or was the gift one of those things that suggest the farmer is cheating on Emily? What's the real story behind the gift? Been long enough, time for another As Stardew Valley Turns!!!

Today we look at what happens when the farmer is out past 2 AM. It seems no matter what the farmer will collapse at 2 at the latest, and if the farmer is outside, at 6 AM the farmer wakes up in their own bed, along with a note from either Joja corporation or Harvey saying "hey, found you outside and brought you home, taking X gold for the annoyance". Should we be concerned that Joja corporation has apparent vampires hanging around outside? What about Harvey? How does everyone know where the farmer lives? Should we be concerned that the farmer has stalkers??

Today in As Stardew Valley Turns we discuss an unusual event that happens every so often.

According to a local farmer, when he fishes he occasionally will fish up treasure chests, which seem to be everything from bait to Iridium bands to weapons to diamonds. The farmer doesn't know why there's so much strange stuff in the water, or why there's all these treasure chests either. Was there a pirate in Pelican town years ago that left all sorts of treasures? For the chests that reveal something as mundane as bait, is this someone playing a prank?

Today, in As Stardew Valley Turns, we take a look at Jas!

Jas is supposedly the niece to Marnie, the local rancher. While this may be true, she has several peculiarities about her that have some people wondering if she is in face some kind of demon! Shane vows that this isn't the case, he knew her parents before they died and took her in. However, people who have stayed out late swear to have seen someone that looks like Jas and report waking up the next morning with no memory of what happened! There is also the question of why a 10 year old seems to have such...bizarre hobbies! If Jas just a 10 year old with odd hobbies? Is she really a demon sent to revive Cthulhu? Is Shane really hiding something?

Today in As Stardew Valley Turns we look at what a local farmer is shipping. finding it odd that the farmer is shipping out fish, all kinds of metals, void mayo, and other weird items. A talk with the farmer finds out that the farmer does a little dungeon diving, but doesn't understand why some of the items shipped carry such a high price - especially the void mayo, since that seems to be hated by everyone. If it was hated by everyone though, there wouldn't be a demand or a high price for it. The farmer didn't know, saying that after it's put in the box, the mayor takes care of it. Questioning the mayor resulted in an odd deflection, muttering something about "someone I know loves it"...but the only known lover of the void mayo are goblins. Does Mayor Lewis trade with goblins for exotic goods? Are there other monsters that Lewis barters with?? Or does Lewis even know who it is because it's just sent to a PO Box and the Mayor isn't about to turn down a huge influx to cash? What's the real story?
