As I've played, I've come to wonder: Is Big Ape REALLY watching?

Maybe "Big Ape" Is the monster who destroyed the earth ?

    Here's my theory :

Big ape is the monster who destroyed the earth. He/She/It can mind control (or something like that) people, and used the mind control on apex politicians and scientist to create the Miniknog, giving itself the fake identity of "Big Ape"
It did the same thing to the Avians, forcing them to worship it, under the fake identity of "Kluex"
Then, it forced the apex to crash on the floran homeworld, granting them space travel and FTL technology
I dont know how it would be linked to the Hyotyls however, and i don't know how it is linked to the Novakids either.
It forced the apex/humans to build the glitch

I pretty sure it will be the final boss of starbound.

    No.
The monster that destroyed the human homeworld was the same thing inhabiting tentacle planets in game. We have a video of it, even.
It is far more likely that Big Ape is a group of apex who want and have control over their species and possibly others.
Big Ape is a cover name that instills both fear and comfort in the controlled population.

The glitch were built by an unknown race, probably the same race that built the robots in the pyramid bases.
And it was an Avian ship that crashed and gave Florans FTL tech. It just happens to be an Apex ship you spawn in.

I don't think it's big ape in that poster. If it was big ape, then it would be advertised. It might just be a poster that happened to be an ugly person.
Since Apex technology is most advanced, it makes perfect sense for their tech to be everywhere. Since the prisons say "USCM penal colony" and the bunkers obviously filled with human soldiers say "USCM", I doubt they were imprisoned by the Apex.:D
I believe the same species that helped the Avians also made the Glitch and the other robot guys, but the Apex have no evidence pointing towards the creation of the glitch or the other robots. Or helping the Avians.:geek:
I never heard any races talking about big ape in human society.
    Hope I helped. :)

No, they don't. Those are obviously robots inside, however they are not the glitch because the glitch are medieval.
    Let's look ate the facts:
    -No Big Ape posters
    -No Big Ape TV
    -No Apes
However, if you read the glitch codex, it ways something along the lines of "There were other races, but they grew technologically faster than socially", or something like that. Which explains why they try to kill you.

Why do those pyramids then have Apex furnishings? They even have Apex pointer arrows that are not present at other Apex labs yet still are reckonized as Apex stuff by characters. Not to mention nobody forbid miniknog to have robot-guarded autonomous bases, and since those are autonomous there's no reason to have silly posters.

beta i would assume, there might not be all the furnishings that will be in the full game

I( don't know, in case of all other structures they'd firstly finish furnishings, then implement it, and I see no reason to put in Apex furnishings there when it would be fine as placeholder without any but most basic generic furnishings.

They're called "sci-fi base" on the wiki. Let's look at the further facts:
    Important thing..jpg

    See them? Well, here goes:
Helmet: I believe it is the Apex violium helmet
Chest & Pants: Glitch violium armor, supporting the fact that they are indeed robots; Apex don't have 2 sets of eyes.

    Now, for the actual base:
Notice, it isn't made of the common light metal found in Apex facilities. Indeed, the nearby junk tech is the only Apex building material found in this base.
The rest is made of spaceship wall panels, pressurized beams, and pressurized steel. Other than your ship, these items are not found anywhere else that I know of. Pressurized steel isn't even in your ship!

So what if they use Apex furnishings? They're the most advanced! They look best inside the base.

I also have screenshots of a rebel Apex village if anyone wants to see them. At least, I have a pic of one of the houses.

These are not crucial arguments disproving fact it's an Apex structure, not to mention that developers who pay so much attention to every detail in the game ought to have created at least some exclusive for this dungeon furniture or made sure Apex lab equipment has no references to belonging to Apex.

    I'll put this thumbnail in:
    211820_2014-02-02_00010.png
If you want to see a proper view of the whole village, go to Delta Sigma Cas 64 II and go right. The pyramid is to the left.
    X: 180
    Y: 133

Be very careful, the ground is covered with wooden spikes that insta-kill you.

I don't see the big ape watching this, what appears to be a rebel base...

EDIT: No, It can't be a rebel base. Everyone has really depressed lines, and one even said "big ape is watching us all, stranger." Only a few people sounded like rebels.
